Nicht ohne Grund findet man ein, oder mehrere Pultec EQs in fast jedem professionellen Studio. Der Pultec passive (Röhren) EQ ist einsetzbar in Einzelspuren, sowie im Mix- und Masterbus. Die Hardware Version des vor ca 60 Jahren erstmals eingeführten Geräts kostet nach meinen Kenntnissen ca 10.000 Euro/Dollar/Pfund. Wie schön das es heute Plugin Emulationen gibt. Sehr viele (Plugin-) Hersteller bieten die Software Version des Geräts an. Neben dem Universal Audio Pultec Plugin besitze ich auch Pultec Plugins von anderen Herstellern welche eigentlich alle brauchbar sind. Ausser vor Freeware Versionen möchte ich warnen - "You get what you pay for". Im Vergleich zu den (Software) Pultecs von anderen Herstellen finde ich die Universal Audio Version wirklich besser bzgl. des Klangs. Das UA Plugin ist teuerer als Andere, aber den Unterschied kann man hören. Der etwas höheren Preis finde ich daher gerechtfertigt.
