The name Mesa Boogie has been a guarantee of quality for over 30 years now. Carlos Santana's exceptional singing guitar sound has always been closely linked to Boogie amps. It is even said that he is the one to have inspired the name "Boogie" due to a comment he made while testing a prototype: "man, that little thing really boogies!" The modern Boogies have carried on the reputation of its predecessors and it's no second-guess to suppose that Randy Smith, the head of Mesa, imagines hearing his designs of perfection coming out of equally good cabinets. Many guitar players wholly underestimate the proportions of cabinets and speakers and end up buying amps over and over again, instead of taking care of that last and absolutely not insignificant link in the sound chain.
The Roadking 4x 12" speaker is slanted and combines 2x Celestion C90 speakers -- which are specially designed for Mesa and deliver an open, 3D plastic sound -- via 2x Vintage 30 speakers, famous for their incredibly powerful and crunchy sound. The result is a broad, crunchy sound that combines the advantages of both speakers.
With an appropriate power amplifier, the speaker can also be operated in stereo, which can sound especially spatial with the appropriate effects sounds.
