I am truly glad I decided to finally go for the real Gibson Hummingbird. The price tag certainly kept me away for long enough, but once I got over that I managed to embrace this purchase and I have no regrets.
The guitar of course looks absolutely beautiful and mine arrived in as perfect condition as one could expect so I really have no complaints. The playability is smooth and setup is comfortable right from the box.
Just for my personal preference I changed the tuner buttons from Kidneys to Tulips but the only thing I will change from now on are the regular string changes. The tone is a bit more than I hoped for, rich and deep with a lot of mid emphasis as the Mahogany promised but not at all losing any necessary top end.
It's size is large but not too large and it produces a lot of volume keeping up nicely with vocals of any volume. It is equally suitable for fingerpicking and strumming. I have 5 other acoustics, most with rosewood or maple back and sides so the Mahogany warmth and rich tone is just a perfect addition to my acoustic guitar arsenal.
The guitar hard case looks great too, sturdy and well fitting.
I can recommend this as a guitarist with 40 years experience of playing and I wish I could have gotten it sooner.
But now that I have it, I just want to play and play, it's very hard to put away.

Die Hummingbird ist ein Traum. Sie klingt weich, warm, präzise, und hat ein unglaubliches harmonisches Spektrum. Ich werde nie gut genug Gitarre spielen können, um diesem Instrument gerecht zu werden - es war trotzdem jeden Cent wert. Sie zaubert ein Lachen in mein Gesicht, sobald ich sie in die Hand nehme, jeden Tag, und wunderschön ist sie außerdem.
Ihre Stärke liegt im Finger Style, finde ich, da kommt sie am Besten zur Geltung. Aber sie kann beim Strumming auch richtig laut werden. Der Hals ist handlich und hat eine gute Breite für Pickings, die Spielbarkeit ist hervorragend. Im Moment sind Elixir Saiten drauf, sie harmonieren hervorragend mit dem Instrument.

war bislang immer der unerfüllbare Traum, den ich mir schließlich doch in Form der Standard erfüllt habe.
Ich bin ein Fan von "altem" Sound mit modernen Elementen, somit habe ich zunächst die Studio ausprobiert, welche bereits für mich sehr gut klang. Die Verarbeitung war absolut mega und ich war bereits mehr als zufrieden, da ich mich nicht als den absoluten Experten bezeichnen kann.
Im Vergleich zu der Standard allerdings war der Unterschied nochmal riesig. Der bassige Klang, die klaren Mitten und der Attack, einfach Wahnsinn.
Das SB Finish finde ich persönlich auch wunderschön. Zur Verarbeitung brauch man denke ich nicht viel zu sagen, man merkt einfach, dass man eine hochwertige Gitarre in der Hand hält.
Für mich eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

I'm a fan of "old" sound with modern elements, so I first tried out the Studio, which already sounded very good to me. The workmanship was absolutely amazing and I was already more than satisfied, as I can't describe myself as an absolute expert. Compared to the standard, however, the difference was huge. The bassy sound, the clear mids and the attack, simply amazing. Personally, I also think the SB finish is beautiful. I don't think you need to say much about the workmanship, you just notice that you're holding a high-quality guitar in your hand. A clear purchase recommendation for me.
