Not durable but great sound

Good overall pick, it's the kind of pick that allows for a good attack, precision but also usable for strumming.
The size is somewhere in between a classic and a jazz pick.
Sound is great, I really dislike picks that make the strings sound a bit dull/muddy, kind of 2mm with round tip.
It wears out very fast though, especially while strumming so I tend to file/sand paper the tip 3 or 4 times and then I'm forced to use a new one.
It has a nice grip pattern but the material makes it a little bit more sweaty/slippery than a normal Tortex pick so without the texture it would be extremely slippery.

+ sound (really like it)
+ shape
+ right amount of flex
+ Good all-round for picking and strumming without being a dedicated pick

- durability
- grip not the best but neither the worst I've used

The perfect pick!
Anonymous 27.01.2015
Most of us guitarists ignore the influence of pick to the tone.

But here is where it all begins!
Not at the strings, pickup, guitar or Amp - the pick is the first thing - and it's in your hand!
So don't save your money and ignore even these little things in guitarist-life.

Let's see:
A good pick needs a good grip, so you won't lose it.

It has too feel ergonomic, so it will be one with your fingers and won't get tired of holding it.

It should hit the strings hard enough without stopping you motion.

It should release the strings fast, rolling-off and without killing the tone.

The material shouldn't swallow the tone.

Well... It sounds impossible?

No!!!

Buy Dunlop Big Stubby picks - and you'll see!

I use 1.00mm and 2.00mm

One of My Favorites

These larger 1mm version of the jazz stubby are one of my favourite picks for articulated picking on the electric guitar. For rock, country, and blues I use these almost exclusively.

The durability is great except once the tip wears a little you lose that articulation that these picks are known for. I keep the worn ones around for strumming. The thickness can take some getting used to if you are coming from a thinner delrin pick, but you might never go back. They are comfortable to hold as well because of the the thickness and the indent for the finger and thumb. I found that my pick hold would change throughout playing with a thinner pick but these help eliviate fatigue for longer sessions which is great.

Seriously give these a try. I wasn't one for stubby's, but these lareger versions are amazing.
