Trigit drum triggers
Michael8641 25.05.2015
I bought this trigit set so i could use it with my Drumitfive drum brain, and apply it to my tiny Sonor Jungle kit 16" kick 10+14 toms, 12" tama snare. I do have a full 2box kit with mesh pads, so im used to the sounds from the drum brain. 2box has recently upgraded the operating system of the drumitfive and it is necessary to install the update inorder to use these triggers . This is because they have installed an additional kit bank contsinibg the same 100 kits as standard but with set up for use with the triggers. I havent used triggers before so nothing to compare with. To report that the tom/snare triggers were east to clip onto the drum.rims but i did have to tighen up the screw quite a bit to keep the units square and not tilted. This did seem to go against the instructions provided of not tightening so much, but i found they slid along the rim if left loose when played. The kick unit is bigger and comes with some rubber pads to allow fitting on different thickness hoops. I made a mistake initially of assuming that all i needed to do to getbthe triggers working with the drumitfive unit was to select the new kit bank for triggers in the unit. But this is not the case. I should have also followed the instructions in the little book provided and gone tonthe TRIG page of the Dumitfit UNIT setting. For each drum you Must turn the Gain up so that when you hit the drum as hard as you normally would until the LEVEL reaches 0Db.. If you dont do this you wont hear the sounds from the drum brain..... The acoustic drums will drown them out. You have to do this for each of the drums to be able the hear the sounds over the sound of the skins. Also, once you have done this you may find that there is some cross talk between the triggers or some double triggering...... But dont worry, on the TRIG page you can tweek these with the THRESH and X-talk settings. Oh i forgot to mention that again on the TRIG page you need to make sure you have selected the correct TYPE of trigger.. For triggers, if you have it set for mesh or rubber pads it wont work. So for each drum trigger set Type, hit drum hard to get to 0Db Level and then tweek X-TALK and THRESH if needed. I can report that the triggers worked well, bith the head and the rim . If there was a sound assined to s drum rim it did trigger it correctly...and the only time i had to.mess with the X-Talk and tresh was with Tom 1 where initially the head also triggered a cowbell assigned to the rim. A point to note is that the triggering does get more sensitive the closer you hit the head to it. So its worth learning the 'hot spots' because you can use this in performance. Also, on my snare i have a weatherking head with reverse centre dot. I have found that if i hit the outer part of the head .... Opposite where the trigger is, that this dot interferes with the vibration of the hit and doesnt trigger or reduces the effect of the trigger. When i wack the head on top of the dot or on the side nearer the trigger, theres no problem. As i said ive nit used triggers before so cant compare to others, but what i can say is that these triggers combinned with the 2box Drumitfive unit turn my tiny Jungle kit into a MONSTER.

Excellent Build Quality
Sned99 16.01.2019
The build quality of these triggers is really excellent, possibly some of the best I've seen. The part that is visible on top of the drum (and in the firing line of your drum sticks) is all die-cast metal, so these can probably take quite a beating and still keep on beating.

The trigger response is truly excellent - I'm using them on an acoustic kit that has been modded with mesh heads. I just plugged them into the drum module, slightly tweaked the sensitivity (which was set up for a Traps electronic kit that the module is from), and they work flawlessly. The tracking between hitting the head and rim is extremely accurate, and has picked up all of my rim hits so far correctly.

The mounting system is perfect for standard triple-flange hoops (i've not tested them on die-cast or s-hoops), and I'd guess that they'd clamp onto other hoop types without any problems based on the design. The kick trigger also clamped onto the wooden hoop very securely.

In summary - first-rate build quality, excellent response and accurate tracking.

Very good triggers for good price!
UltraDrumAddict 07.05.2018
I bought this set + 1 snare/tom trigger for using with mesh heads on my 7-piece drum kit. Before it I also bought a Roland RT-30H to test the possibility of acoustic-to-electronic drums conversion. Test results was fine, but eventually I refused buying Roland triggers because of their price. 2box set of 5 triggers costs as much as 1 Roland trigger, meanwhile the quality and sensitivity of both of the triggers are absolutely THE SAME! 2box works perfectly with my Roland TD-10 TDW-1 drum module and Remo Silent Stroke mesh heads. Moreover, 2box triggers are made from metal, so they are more solid and durable. The only disadvatage of 2box trigger is its mounting system (you need a regular drum tuning key). But it's not a reason for not to buy it. These triggers are perfect for acoustic-to-electronic drum conversion!

First time I used them
Saint Ra-7 27.03.2024
I was first skeptical about them but after installing them on my kit they work like a charm! Only thing that could be better is the mounting system cause some of them are a bit loose and move a little but in overall they work perfectly fine on my dm10 studio kit
