Zildjian 16" K-Series Dark Crash review
Todd A. 28.06.2013
This has to be the favourite cymbal I've purchased to date, out of the total of 14 cymbals currently set up around my kit. The Zildjian 16" K-Series Dark Crash is a solid, heavy sounding cymbal that fills a large range of frequencies, but without any intrusive resonant pitch or ringing sound like a lot of other cymbals. It's tonal quality is almost like white noise - it fills the space, but doesn't get in the way of any of the other band's instruments or drum tones.

I've found it perfect for powerful intros to bring new beats into songs, ending fills, and carrying the rhythm of a powerful beat solidly without losing any momentum. It has a relatively long decay, but not as long as a ride cymbal, so it never gets in the way.

This has to be my favourite crash so far, I'm already considering looking for a second of the same type but of a slightly different size.

T
This cymbal was dissappointing
Tim8465 27.06.2014
Bought this cymbal from Thomann based on the sound samples I heard on the Thomann website. When I tried it in my studio, the pitch of the model sent to me was way off from the model on Thomann.

I tried to send it back with the 30 day money back garuantee but from my country it would have cost me quite a significant amount so I decided to keep it.

Zildjian cymbals are very inconsistent so don't make the same mistake I did. I will only blind-buy Paiste in the future as they are in fact extremely consistent.

SONIDO IMPECABLE

Top!
