Very nice trashy sounding crash cymbal. I already have the 18" A Custom EFX which is one of the favorites in my set up.
I often use the 16" stacked on top of a 16" oriental trash. Lately I'm using it in my percussion set up.

T
Zildjian A Custom EFX | Crashy, Trashy yet very very smooth
Thomas7957 10.02.2015
This cymbal is a perfect hybrid solution to a crash cymbal crossed with a china. With that, you benefit from the trashier side of the china, mixed in with the warm wash of a crash cymbal, which all works out rather well indeed.
This is a particularly smooth cymbal. The attack is progressive, leaving the decay & sustain, to just work accordingly.
What is really nice about this A Custom EFX 16" is that you can touch the cymbal very softly and still get a lovely understated shine as a response... in other words, you can use this at a very low level. That in itself is a plus over a china.
In addition, add a 6"/8" splash on the top, and you have yourself a pretty tasty stack!
Lovely cymbal. 100% Recommended.

There are reasons you spend your 'hard-earned' on Zildjian cymbals; this is simply one of the many that exist. It's bright, brilliant, short, punchy, classily trashy, tonally engaging, complimentary to my set up and, best of all, makes me feel like I'm an improved player because of its existence.
