B
I get a bigger sound with more trombone-like "punch" in the low range.

I bought this item for a (nearly-new) "Baritone Horn", which is a name and style of horn popular in UK and elsewhere where there have been British brass band connections. In pitch, these instruments share the same range as the familiar Tenor Trombone. I was amazed how much the lower notes gained more character, making colourful contribution to the overall sound. Exactly as expected, with a larger and maybe slightly deeper cup than I had used before, the higher notes are not quite so easily achieved as they would be with the commoner smaller-cupped mouthpieces, but that should not be the deciding consideration!. For me, I am very happy to gain the extra warmth and "punch" in the lower range made possible with using this Yamaha Neo mouthpiece and its overall sound is really good. As with trumpets for example, the player may select one mouthpiece for favouring the higher range - or for another piece, they may choose a larger cup model to favour colour and strength in the medium and lower-pitched range. Every player's needs will be different. This mouthpiece is a really good buy. I have still given it five stars, because it makes my "student-to-intermediate" horn sound like a much higher-priced model! The item arrived quite quickly.
