Due to a special notch in the thread, which is filled with plastic, these tuning screws do not release by themselves and thus guarantee the stability of the tuning
The drop out of the tuning screws has been a thing of the past since tight screws

I fitted ten rods batter-side on my Ludwig 402 and left the snare-side with the original rods unchanged.
It took some getting used to, not being able to start tuning by "feel", but as my drum was already in tune, I replaced one rod at a time, so was able to maintain the desired overall pitch throughout.
Rehearsing and gigging:
My Ludwig 402 sang!! And it has not detuned since. This is a great product which i would recommend unreservedly.
I've not made any head changes yet, and perhaps the "stay-tight" effect may lessen over several head changes (the manufacturer says they will feel slightly looser after the first use), but still a once-and -for-all solution to any troublesome snare.
You can now fine-tune by ear and never have to worry about maintaining your precious sound throughout a gig!

Realmente mantiene la afinacion bastante bien, aunque le des buena pegada. Pierdes la posibilidad de afinar "al tacto", pero si tu caja se desafina mucho, es fundamental tenerlos.
It actually maintains the tuning quite well, even if you hit it hard. You lose the ability to tune "by touch", but if your snare drum goes out of tune a lot, it is essential to have them.
