REVIEW: THON 2U RACK MOUNT SLIDE-OUT DRAWER
soulrebelno1 19.09.2016
This is an excellent 19" rack 2U slide-out drawer and the quality is very good. The approximate internal dimensions are; width: 433mm (17"); depth: 347mm (13 5/8"); height: 70mm (2 3/4"). The main reason why I went for the Thon drawer over the others is that the rails are on the bottom and not on the sides, which gives you more width. I use it to store my 15" Samsung laptop, which just about fits in width-wise with the side power lead attached. I'm going to purchase some right-angled adaptors for the power and USB connectors, so I can use the laptop with my Kemper amp and the audio interface for my D.A.W. The drawer has a full-height lip at the back which has two cut-outs, left and right, which enables you to pass a power lead through. The side lips slope down from the back towards a smaller front lip. I installed the drawer into a Samson SRK8 along with a pair of lockable Thon 2U and 4U drawers. I now have a very neat storage solution which I can wheel about and it allows me to store all my gear in one place. I have also attached a 1U rack mount power strip at the back, which means I only have one 13 amp UK plug to deal with. Overall, I'm very pleased with the Thon rack mount 2U side-out drawer and can highly recommend it.

N
Perfect for helix Control
NikNick 22.07.2020
I was lookig for a drawer for my Helix control and I found this one that has the perfect size.
It's sturdy but also Heavy and it doesnìt have a locking system so it slides inside the rack during movement if you don't put something to stop it.

The unit that I've got didn't fit in the rack (it was too short). But I made a request for a return and Thomann sent me a prepay shipping voucher. Also, it is VERY heavy, about 8.5 kgs

Perfect for backing track rigs!

For building a computer based rack system you can't go too far wrong with this, as it works brilliantly to fit a laptop or keyboard and mouse if you're using a server case PC.

Would point out that it is VERY heavy so if weight is a concern I would keep that in mind.
