Speaker management

The t.racks DSP 408 is a digital speaker management system with a built-in digital mixer, which features four mono input channels that allow the same number of line-level signals to enter through XLR sockets before being distributed across eight mono outputs that also operate at line level. A 32-bit DSP handles all of the routing, while a 24-bit AD/DA converter working at a sampling rate of 96kHz ensures studio-grade processing. The unit features a USB port, a D-Sub socket, and a network connection, allowing for convenient remote control and flexible integration.

From signal processing to crossover

Thanks to its integrated DSP, the t.racks DSP 408 provides a flexible range of tools for shaping audio signals, bringing together a parametric equaliser with nine adjustable frequency bands and variable filter quality, along with a 31-band graphic equaliser that enables quick and precise handling of problematic areas across the spectrum. Alongside these EQ options, dedicated high-pass and low-pass filters allow the device to capably function as a crossover for controlled signal distribution. A noise gate further refines the signal by reducing unwanted low-level noise, while a phase-shift feature preserves fullness and clarity by minimising comb-filter effects.

Remote control, cascading, network

Anyone seeking a speaker management system that remains easy to operate even in low-light conditions will appreciate the t.racks DSP 408, which features illuminated edit and mute buttons for each input and output, as well as backlit controls for feature selection, complemented by a convenient jog wheel for smooth operation. The parameter settings are clearly visible on the illuminated display, ensuring quick and precise adjustments. For more complex setups with longer signal paths, the DSP 408 can be remotely controlled via USB or RS232/485 interfaces and connected to a PC via USB for operation using the included software. Beyond remote control, multiple units can be cascaded via a D-Sub socket, while local network integration is also possible through the network connection, offering flexible options for any setup.

About the t.racks

The in-house brand the t.racks has been an integral part of the Thomann music store range since 1997. A wide range of different rack devices, effects, power distributors, and accessories appear under the t.racks name and prove that quality, reliability, and attractive pricing do not have to be mutually exclusive. Whether for home studios, the stage, or the rehearsal room – the t.racks offers a convincing and affordable solution for every situation.

Solution for fixed installation and on the go

Thanks to its 19" design, the t.racks DSP 408 fits easily into any rack, occupying just 1U of space and weighing only slightly over 2.6kg, making the device convenient to transport for mobile setups. At the same time, the DSP 408 is equally suited to permanently installed systems in bars and clubs, where its wide range of settings can help compensate for acoustic challenges. In live concert environments, it allows bands to keep their PA systems flexible, while DJs can precisely balance top speakers and subwoofers using the crossover function for an optimum sound experience.

Great addition to any drive rack

The DSP408 is an amazing piece if equipment.
I used this primarily in my amp rack for signal splitting and crossovers.
The front panel is very easy to navigate and adjust settings.

I used this mainly over the network cable and linked up with the windows software. on most processors the software always Let down the unit. not this one, its worked every time, looks great and is very easy to use. The Eq sections is more than what most people will need, the matrix mixer is fantastic and allows flexible routing.
The delay section is great to use and easy to enter numbers into each channel.
I don't have any problems with any of the other features included in the free software. ( I would recommend using the software for setup for ease of use.)

pros
4 Inputs and 8 outputs make for a very versatile DSP Processor
Networkable makes this very powerful. (connecting it to a wireless router for portable adjusting round venues. )
A vast amount of DSP and your disposal.

Cons
No AES on this unit. but there is another unit with AES and FIR Filters.
Controle software is only windows based

Over all this unit is very powerful and will mean all of your needs for a crossover for speaker management.
