Z
I can feel the difference in my vocal recordings
Zonny 22.03.2021
There's a lot of videos on the internet that have mixed feelings about a product like this, but I have to say that in my experience, this micscreen actually makes a difference.

I've done some recordings in an untreated room and I could hear a clear difference between the vocal takes with and without the micscreen. I'm using a K&M 260/1 mic stand because that's all I have available at this time and It bent my mic stand to hell, but tbh, I'm not even mad. I love the difference that this item makes on my vocals.

I would of appreciated some more documentation on the product, because you don't rly get an instructions guide on what are the best practices with this item but what I found out is that it's better to shove the mic as close to the back of the screen as possible. This helps a lot (at least in my case) with reverberations and other unwanted stuff that can get caught when singing in an untreated room.

I also like to play around with the side panels as well, depending on the intensity of the vocal part that I'm recording. For softer parts I like to open the panels wider, so that the vocals get an airy touch. For louder parts I like to bring the side panels closer in, so that it's much tighter and absorbs more of the unwanted frequencies.

I don't know if what I'm doing is right or wrong, but it seems do work just fine for me.

Pros: Good build, solid materials, relatively easy to set up and use, can be used either on a mic stand or directly on your desk.

Cons: It's kinda heavy but I guess that is to be expected and as I said, I don't really mind because it gets the job done. Does not come with recommendations for "good" or "bad" ways of using the screen

Very heavy no height control for the mic or the panel to expensive for what they offer -for that price they could use aluminum -but does the job if you can find a stand strong enough to hold it

BH
Very nice
Bror Harald 21.01.2022
The product is very nice and it is indeed working. I've used it for a little while now and it is making the sound nice and isolated. The only thing that i didn't like is that the mount on the back was a little crooked, but that was fixed with a little bend with my hand. So over all a great product and very usefull for my home studio.

O
Absorber and Diffuser , home studio perfect!
O.Santana 26.01.2023
i was searching for a way to improve the recording of vocals for my home studio musical proyects. I Always come to Thomann for high quality, budget price products, and this Absorber/diffuser was just what i needed. I use it with an standard microphone stand, to record while standing on my feet. i haven had any issues with it.
With this absorber, my condenser mic "concetrates" on my voice and i get a clean recording to work with.
i do not use it for poadcasting or talk recording, but this thing comes ready to get over a desk.
I've had it for 5 years and there is no sign of deterioration of materials.
highly recommended!!
