Sommer Cable Monocat Power 212 BK

I ordered a metre of this cable as a sample before ordering in bulk, and I'm glad that I did. Overall the cable is very flexible for its size, I'm not sure what one of the other reviewers was talking about when they described it as stiff. I would say its about the same diameter as a 24 way analogue multicore but more flexible.

As others have mentioned, the two audio cables are quite thin, but they seem well screened and should be fine if handled with care. The power cable is again pretty sturdy and seems to have a tough outer jacket - better than regular PVC flex but not as it as flexible as HO7. The big problem is the two Cat7 cables. Although this product is advertised by Sommer as "equally suitable for permanent installations and mobile applications", the cat7 is, inexplicably, solid conductor rather than stranded! For that reason alone, it's very hard to recommend for mobile use. Probably fine for an install, but then why would you waste money on a combi cable for an install?

Ideal combi cable (for me), it what i need for my 'snake'.
Too bad the cable is very, very stiff, making it tough too handle especially in live situations.
Strange: the wires for UTP are very thick, the ones for xlr are painfully thin :-(
But that's not all; for some reason, 'normal' Neutrik RJ45 plugs simply don't fit the UTP wires, you HAVE to order special Sommer plugs, which are insanely EXPENSIVE, and remember; you need 4 !!

If had known all this form the start, I would have never bought it.
