Sennheiser MZH604

I don't know for how many years I have had these flexible plastic clamps on my rims, used by how many sound engineers, but it's amazing how easy these click on your drums, and how hard it is to hit them from their spot.

Almost not possible, or you have to deliberately aim at them. I have never hit one off, not even on first time drum kits placed permanently in certain venues.
You'll more likely break the mic. attached, but the clamp itself will remain on exact the same spot.
Which you wouldn't think by looking at it, but as I said: Sennheiser have had this for many many years.
These are meant for toms en everything else with similar rims, you can even put these on almost any snare and not be worried about striking them off.

It's that flexible material of these things that does miracles.
It absorbs your miss-hits.
A must for any drummer who mikes his/her set.

This clip is really sturdy and also very flexible, which is good because the vibrations from the rim are not captured from the microphone, resulting in some unwanted noise.
As a con, even if the screw is compatible with any mic clamp I suggest to buy this only if you are going to use it with sennheiser E604 mics, that are light and small.
If instead you use it with any bigger and heavier drum mics like sm57 or md421 it will bend so much that you'll have your microphone moving back and forth about 3, even 4 cm, making a long and careful mic positioning completely useless.

Ich brauchte zwei zusätzliche Rim-Klemmen MZH604. Also bei Thomann auf die Bestellseite gesehen - und erstmal geschluckt, was für ein Obolus da aufgerufen wird! Habe sie dann doch zähneknirschend bestellt, ich brauchte sie einfach.

Natürlich sind die Teile toll in Handling, Haltbarkeit und Funktion, und ich bin mir sicher, dass Sennheiser lange experimentieren musste, bis sie die richtige Mischung für den Kunststoff herausgefunden haben. Sowas kann man natürlich nicht zu den Materialkosten von ca. 1 EUR pro Stück verkaufen. Ausserdem wollen (und sollen) Distribution und Handel ja auch was daran verdienen, aber 49 EUR? Ich gestehe, den Preis nehme ich Sennheiser übel. Bei aller Qualität und Funktionalität des Produktes - die Klemmen halten gut, lassen sich gut an- und wieder abmontieren, es werden so gut wie keine Schlaggeräusche mechanisch weitergeleitet (für den Liveeinsatz jedenfalls absolut zu vernachlässigen), und es ist einfach ein Riesenvorteil, wenn ein großes Drumset nicht von einem Stativwald umlagert wird, die bei dem Chaos auf einer Bühne verschoben werden können. Diese Klemmen sparen Platz und Gewicht im Vergleich zu jedem Stativ. Aber dafür kosten sie auch soviel wie ein gutes K&M. Für das leicht in Schräglage befindliche Preis/Leistungsverhältnis gibt es einen Punkt Abzug, ansonsten ist das MZH604 von Sennheiser ein Spitzenteil.

Sennheiser - könntet Ihr da nochmal in Euch gehen und den Preis anpassen?
