Much easier to play than cheaper mouthpieces
lazarovphoto 26.01.2019
I'm still a beginner with the saxophone. I had a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece and it was good, but this one is much easier to play lower notes with. The highs are not muddy, but bright and clean. I've never tried a higher grade mouthpiece and so far this one is the best I've owned.

Best mouthpiece I own
Musicanter 08.05.2023
I own around 10 different mouthpieces and have played on many more and I can say that the Selmer S80 is the best all round. I wish I had bought one years ago and saved myself a lot of money, the reason I didn't was because I was under the misapprehension that it was a 'classical' mouthpiece, whereas I played mainly jazz. Well actually this is a brilliant mouthpiece, whatever genre you play. With a Vandoren Blue 2 1/2 reed on either my Yamaha YAS62 or TJ Sig Custom RAW, it sounds great, has excellent response and plays easily and consistently at the top, middle and bottom of the range in any style you want. Superb!

Great mouthpiece
Michael9376 21.01.2014
Middle register: full, rich sound
Lower notes: quite easy to access
Upper register: no thinning of tone
Overall good value and ideal to move on to from student mouthpiece.
Like all mouthpieces, may take a little time to adjust to but worth the effort.
