For recording irish fiddle (violin) this microphone went straight into use in a studio environment. Its able to reproduce the correct natural sound exactly. This microphone is stability and accuracy. In this context its the perfect microphone: acoustic fiddle in a studio with a neutral ambiance. There are less variables to compensate for which could dissuade the musician, make a musician need to change to compensate for how the microphone records an initial take, its not an uncomfortable microphone to work with in this sense. There is no bias in response or loss of brilliance with percussive playing either. You could be happy with very little post processing and go straight into positional mastering of the track very quickly. Interesting point: it will pick up the little dullness of older worn strings or an curved bridge on the instrument too.

Genial für klassische Gitarre, aber nicht nur!

Mit dem Schoeps Mono-Set MK 4 nehme ich in erster Linie Gitarren auf. Stahlsaiten, Dobro, Jazzgitarre und klassische Gitarre. Als Vergleich habe ich das "AT 4033a", "AKG C214", "Neumann KM 184 Paar" und das "AT 5045". Dabei nehme ich ein Mikro direkt vor der Gitarre (15 bis 30 cm) und 2 weitere Mikros Stereo in etwa 0,7 bis 1m Abstand.
Sowohl das Schoeps als auch das AT 5045 liefern direkt vor der Gitarre ein ausgezeichnetes Klangbild; der Sound ist detailreich und frisch; und Geschmacksache. Mir gefällt dabei die Klangcharakteristik des Schoeps (samtiger in den Höhen, sehr feine Auflösung) besser, als das des AT 5045 (höhenreicher mir z.T. zu spitz). Aber das ist jammern auf sehr hohem Niveau! Die Spinne des Japaners ist allerdings ein kleines Wunderwerk der Technik; da sollte sich Schoeps noch etwas abschauen!!
Den Neumann KM 184 hört man an, dass sie nur ein drittel kosten, sie machen aber als Stereopaar ein gute Figur. Wer gerade abfängt aufzunehmen kann mit diesen Mikros gute Ergebnisse erzielen!!!
Für die klassische Gitarre finde ich die Schoeps einfach genial; sie liefern genau den "sweet Tone", den ich hören will. (saubere Spielweise vorausgesetzt)
Jetzt habe ich das Schoeps als Hauptmikro in der Mitte und das Stereobild hole ich mir mit den "AT 4033a" und "AKG C214" dazu.
Ich fürchte irgendwann muss ich mir noch ein 2tes Schoeps leisten....
