Worthy addition to the Sadowsky range

Anyone potentially concerned that the shift from Japan to Germany for the Metroline series has resulted in a drop in quality need not worry. Having owned both a Japanese Metro, the later Metroline and an Metro Express, I can confirm the Warwick/Sadowsky bass is easily the equal, if not better. Fit and finish is flawless, the pau ferro fretboard very attractive, the invisible fret technology delivers no sharp ends and the fretwork is perfect. All the hardware feels high quality and adjusts easily, including the spoke wheel truss rod. The Jazz shape is a little neck heavy when seated but as it is sub 4Kg it’s lovely and light when standing. No hum or buzz from electrics and only a touch of hiss when boosting treble the the max.
The sound is pure Sadowsky - boost a bit of bass when on the bridge pickup for a fantastic, tight finger style tone, slapping and digging in panned to the centre has that signature scooped tone and the neck pickup delivers a fat, reggae-esque bass sound. They’re so good I’ve also got a hybrid PJ5. Well done Warwick!
