I have factory restored B-77 that I use for recording. My deck is adjusted for the LPR35 from the factory but I had purchased after hearing it on a PR-99 machine. I did readjust the deck for the 90 and as you might expect, the 90 tape falls a little on the brighter side, but in my opinion falls short on the 77. In the end, it is important to consider what source you intend to record. Comparing the LPR90 to the LPR35 in playback, I prefer the 35 because to my ears, it records more evenly across the frequency spectrum. This was true for my Revox B-77 and very surprisingly for the (non-refurbished) PR-99. In conclusion, the LPR90 is a good tape and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, but whatever technical (spec) advantages it offers, I can't hear compared to the LPR35 on my current tape decks. The LPR35 is also slightly less expensive so the helps.

I got this a half a year ago. Splendid top quality and the same chemical formula as legendary pro tape BASF SM911.
My best regards to THOMANN.

Better then you would want

I bought this tape out of curiosity, to compare it with previous LPR35. To tell you the truth except higher output I haven't noticed more advantages. But maybe it's just me. However I am very glad having the opportunity to choose from. Analog lives again!. There is absolutely no reason to buy NOS tape. RTM rules!

Good product, easy to use.
Analogue fan 22.06.2017
Superbly packed, this arrived within 2 days of ordering.
Bought as a pancake it was simple to transfer the hub and tape to a new 10.5" NAB reel by simply undoing the 3 screws of the old reel and transferring the empty flanges to the pancake.
In use the tape gives excellent results on my Akai GX-635D tape deck and exhibits a wide dynamic range with no audible tape hiss. Recordings are sharp and clear with the added confidence of using a new tape.
Highly recommended, It's on my list for when I need some more.
