For past 6 years I have been using Edirol UA-25 as my main driver for production and recording vocals. That card fell many times and survived it like a champ, sound wasn't bad either so I figured I'll go with Roland again.
To start thing off. Build quality seems very good, despite my copy rattling while shaking it lightly (sounds literally like someone dropped their keys inside while assembling). All the knobs seem sturdy, although they wobble a little, but it is barely noticeable. Paint finish is a fingerprint magnet, however that mat finish looks incredible on the desk.
Sound is great. No hum on preamps, relatively low noise floor, has a nice top end to it with my C214 mic. Combined with built in compressor and a loopback function it makes a great card for streamers as well.
Overall its a great card, all the features are great to have. The only wish is that the drivers would have adjustable buffer size, instead of almost 10 year old buffer size presets. Hope this review finds you well. Cheers!
