This is an excellent head for a clear, modern sound on the toms. It works well with various kinds of tunings, has a fairly controlled sound but with good sustain, and is very durable. I don't think I've ever been able to dent one. They're great for rock and metal, especially if you're on a budget - I played an Emperor tom head literally for years and it still sounded good!
However, if you're looking for a warmer, more "classic" sound for rock purposes (e.g. Ian Paice in the early 1970's), go for the Coated version.

A great sounding drum head but only if you're a hard hitting or rock drummer. If your band plays different styles of music, pop, soul etc etc this head might not be for you. However, like i said, if its rock, metal or any style like that this will suit!

An industry standard head.

These are a great head, if you're playing live or recording these heads will stand up to it. They are an industry standard head, look at all the big drummers, they have all used these at some point or another. Great sound, use the single ply weather king on the resonant side to make the perfect tom sound.

Remo 10" Emperor Clear
Arunas 24.09.2015
Remo as ussual - good sounding, long lasting and not overpriced. Put this along with 12'' on toms, tuned easily, added some Moongel for damping and it is ready to rock :) I find these to sound quite bright and warm, so fits our style well.
