Just the job!

I bought this Protec double trumpet case following an earlier purchase of a Protec Trumpet/Flugel Combo. These Protec cases are fantastic and well worth the money. I have plenty of room for both my C and Bb Trumpets. The removable blocks supplied allow lots of variations of fit for multiple instrumental combinations. I have used this for the following combos - Trp/Cornet, Cornet/Posthorn, Two Trumpets and Single trumpet plus mutes (Harmon/Cup/Straight/Practice/Plunger) all stored safley in the second trumpet space. The two mouthpiece pouches also supplied were also a nice touch which again fasten to the internal of the case via hooks & loops (Velcro). The pocket is a good size for all the normal paraphernalia we brass players carry about. The case is also Backpack ready. I have a Backpack strap already and would recommend one if you are walking any distance allowing your hands to be left free for that all important post gig beer!!

I did not like the design of this case - I used it for a short period and then gave it to a local charity shop

A
Quality trumpet case at a good price!

I have now used my Protec iPac double trumpet case for 18months or so. It still shows no signs of any real wear - despite its heavy use. The quality is excellent and its not heavy - especially when I use the back-pack straps I bought to go with it. The moveable foam packing blocks are useful - especially when you are carrying a piccolo trumpet around, and want to make sure it isn't going to move around in transit. I think this is a really well made case for such an excellent price!

Wanted a hard case to hold trumpet + mutes + random bits and pieces, which was backpackable and airline carry-on-able. This was the closest I could find for a reasonable price. In fact, it fits all those criteria apart from that I think technically it's marginally over most airlines' dimension limits but I've flown with it on a couple of trips now and haven't been challenged.

To make it a backpack you need to purchase the Protec backpack strap. I did, and usually carry the case this way, and regularly cycle with it on my back. (For cycling I recommend buying some reflective stickers to be visible on the road from behind!)
