Pearl THMP-1 Throne Thumper

I have just started using this with my Roland kit in a large Christmas show. It really is good, and comparable to the the much more expensive Porter and Davis BC system. It has adjustable volume and low pass filter so you can set it to your liking. The quality of the product is nice, and what you would expect from a Pearl collaboration. Basically it really gives you the feel of the music, and some how it does actually help the bass freq become louder in the ears. One great benefit of this type if system is that it stops you feeling you need to hit the bass drum so hard and so helps add fitness to playing, plus you are less likely to cause yourself an injury from over working you foot/leg joints. Previous I actually had a sub woofer to sit on to create the same effect, however this interferes with the sound too much and is much bulkier to carry around than this nice little red unit.

I love the feeling this gives me with edrums, the imemrsion is next level. It packs a lot of punch even at just 25% volume (the throne literally jumps if I do not sit on it), so I think 200 Watts is enough and there is no need to go for stronger and more expensive options.

Always plug the audio in while the unit is turned off. I blew up the fuse just by unplugging the jack ^^; (it is standard T1A , cheap and readily available everywhere)

Anschluss lief problemlos, Direktansteuerung über separaten Monitorweg.
Göttliches Gefühl! Man gewöhnt sich so schnell an die Vibrationen, dass man zwischenzeitlich denkt das Teil sei aus.

Verarbeitung ist ordentlich - jedoch ist die Sternkopfschraube bereits nach dem dritten Einsatz doof gedreht gewesen. Anbau muss fest am Hocker erfolgen, damit die Vibrationen auch übertragen werden können.
Da Linksgewinde mussten spezielle Muttern zur Abhilfe ran.

Für den Preis gibt es aber weiterhin eine klare Kaufempfehlung für Neulinge. Bei Profis im ständigen Auf- und Abbau wäre eine Verbesserung/Änderung der Verschraubung hilfreich, vielleicht als Alternative auch die direkte Montage an der Sitzfläche....

Update 13.07.17: 6 Einsätze später ist der Verstärker fritte. Er bruzelt dermaßen, dass es sogar auf der Front-PA zu hören ist.
Ansteuerung erfolgt über separaten Monitorkanal. Tritt man auf die Bass Drum drauf, bruzelt es im Takt mit. Verstärker abgeschaltet - bruzeln weg.
Geht heute an Thomann zurück - riecht nach Garantiefall! Ich berichte weiter...

Garantie hat gegriffen. Keine weiteren Probleme mehr derzeit. Es brummt und brummt.... Bisher ist erst eine Sicherung durch gewesen. Schnell gewechselt und gut.
