Otto Link Vintage Tenor 7*

I decided to purchase this mouthpiece upon the recommendation of my teacher, who plays an actual vintage Otto Link 8*. This mouthpiece bears an uncanny resemblance to the original, and produces a round fat dark tone, which is easily controllable to suit any situation. It brought my Yanagisawa to life, and the ease of the altissimo register was immediately apparent. I am a professional saxophone player and I now play this mouthpiece full time, in conjunction with the matching Rovner ligature, which I would highly recommend. Initially I found it harder to play than other mouthpieces I had encountered before, but that's just because it requires a bit more air, which I got used to in a couple of weeks.I would highly recommend this mouthpiece to anyone looking for a good all round mouthpiece; it definitely bears the more vintage feel as compared to the standard Otto Links.

Ich habe mir 4 Mundstücke zusenden lassen. Alle 4 waren frisch vom Großhändler, da das Musikhaus Thomann diese 4 Mundstück zuerst bestellen musste.

Zum Lieferumfang: Die Mundstücke kommen in einer besonderen (schwarzen) Otto Link Box, darin ist ein Stoffbeutel mit dem eingeschweißten Mundstück. Über dem Mundstück ist die Otto Link typische Blattschraube und eine goldfarbige Plastikkapsel (ist Geschmacksache, ob einem diese Kapsel gefällt).

Alle 4 Mundstücke hatten unterschiedliche klangliche Eigenschaften. Die einen waren dunkler, die anderen heller. Auch der Blaswiderstand war bei jedem Mundstück unterschiedlich. Die Verarbeitung ist auch unterschiedlich, bei manchen besser, bei anderen etwas schlechter (u.a. Vergoldung nicht ganz sauber, Rundungen der Mundstückspitze sind nicht gleichmäßig, …)

Ich habe aus den 4 Mundstücken, dass für mich beste herausgefunden und muss sagen für mich toll. Voller dunkler Sound und direkte Ansprache bei nicht zu hohem Blaswiderstand. Die Highnotes kommen gut und klingen auch noch entsprechend voll. Für mich ein sehr tolles Mundstück. Man muss halt mehrere probieren!
