Pitch shifter for guitar and vocals

The Mooer MVP2 Harmonier, part of Mooer's Vocal Series, is tailored to the needs of singer-songwriters who wish to enrich their guitar playing with additional vocal harmonies. At its core, the MVP2 Harmonier is an intelligent pitch shifter that adds harmonies based on the selected key. It features 11 different modes, each equipped with various combinations of octaves, fifths, and thirds. Additionally, the compact pedal offers three tonal modes - Flat, Warm, and Bright - for shaping vocal sounds, and a reverb effect that can be applied independently to both guitar and vocal signals. Unlike the majority of Mooer pedals, the Harmonier includes both XLR and jack inputs and outputs, and it also provides phantom power to allow condenser microphones to be used.

Sound and control united

Mooer has designed the MVP2 to be practical and easy to use. The user interface includes a key selector knob, a control for choosing from the 11 harmonies, and a level knob for adjusting the volume of the generated harmonies. The Sharp button allows the user to change the root note and to switch between major and minor keys, while the Favorite footswitch lets the user save and recall up to seven custom presets. The switch on the right side serves a dual purpose: It activates the pedal and toggles the harmony accompaniment and reverb on or off. Alongside the 6.35mm jack output on the pedal's left side, an XLR output is also provided on the rear panel, which means that vocal and guitar output signals can be tapped together or separately, and this same section is also where the microphone plugs in and the (optional) phantom power is activated and the input level adjusted.

All essentials included

The Mooer MVP2 Harmonier caters to both guitarists and to vocalists who play an instrument at the same time, and it is sure to impress both groups with its clean and latency-free tracking of harmonies and an integrated reverb effect that adds a special atmosphere to both channels independently. The pedal is so intuitive to operate that a display is not even necessary, and the manual (which is fairly short to begin with) need only be consulted briefly if at all. Those who prefer to forego numerous connections and extra features in favour of a practical and well-sounding pitch-shifting pedal are sure to find the Mooer MVP2 Harmonier to be the ideal companion, especially for stage performances.

About Mooer

Mooer is based in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has been making products for guitarists since 2010, which include compact single pedals through to multi-effects units and compact amplifiers. The company initially produced a range of mini pedals before making perhaps its most significant breakthrough in 2016 with the sophisticated Ocean Machine delay pedal, which was designed in collaboration with Devin Townsend. Mooer's product range now also includes solutions that feature amp modelling, IR-based speaker simulation, and matching equalisers, and the company's focus remains firmly on the use of digital technology.

Versatile pitch shifter for stage and studio

Multi-part vocal arrangements are inspiring and impressive - but not everyone has a vocal duo or trio as support. This is where the Mooer MVP2 Harmonier comes into play with its 11 different harmonies, making solo performances sound significantly fuller. With both balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs, it is suitable for various applications, whether on a guitarist's pedalboard, connected to an acoustic amp, or for recording vocal tracks directly to a mixer or computer. The Mooer MVP2 Harmonier comes with a suitable 9-volt power supply, but users should note that battery operation is not supported.

Macht meistens was er soll... Mostly does what it's supposed to do...

After a week of testing, an initial conclusion: - the device appears to be of good quality and the basic operation is fairly easy to understand - I didn't use the guitar feature - the enclosed explanation could have been left out, everything is also on the device - you need the web for more precise operation Sound: - you have a maximum of 3 voices (original + DOWN or UP or original with UP and DOWN including third, fifth or octave) - the harmonies towards DOWN all sound more valuable and usable - those towards UP quickly become unnatural and unappealing - combinations (ABOVE and BELOW) are partly usable, partly less "real". The sounds are usable as a "choir supplement" (see e.g. AAAAhhs like Lady in Black), but they sound slightly unnatural with a solo voice. - the memory locations are certainly useful for live performances - the key setting is infinitely variable (???) and the potentiometer generates noise when I use it. Conclusion from my bandmates: switch it off for lead vocals (1st voice), for other things ( "Choir effect") is useful - there are certainly better solutions, but they cost a lot more and are difficult to use live... and the result depends on how cleanly you sing... ;-)

Leider keine Akkorderkennung von der Gitarre! Unfortunately no chord recognition from the guitar!
I specifically asked Thomann whether the harmonies could be controlled via the guitar and they confirmed this! Unfortunately, this is not the case, you have to enter the key manually each time and that is with a pedal! The competition from Digitech or TC El. can do this much better, so unfortunately it has to be returned!

Buen pedal precio calidad Good pedal price quality

Pedal that makes various Harmonies, reverb and has to record memories (I think there are 7) the memories allow you to use it live without having to change parameters. It is missed that it does not detect the tone of the guitar... you have to put it manually, or I know that if for example the song is in D major you have to indicate the tonality to the pedal. The good thing is that in each memory bank you can record the tonality, the Harmony and the reverb and with a click you have it. It is quite robust... in short, a simple pedal but if you do not have a budget since this type of pedals are expensive, it may be worth it.
