Fabulous little box
JB242 05.09.2021
I have a device that doesn't have a very good MIDI implementation. The event processor allowed me to pass just the messages that the device needs. It's pretty easy to configure, works brilliantly and doesn't even need powering.

It's the swiss-army knife you will wonder how you did without
Anonymous 20.01.2016
I bought this initially for one particular use. I was frustrated with iPad synths which I was triggering via MIDI because although a lot of them sounded great, I wanted to have velocity controlling filter cutoff or amplitude as I generally do on my hardware synths. This little box allowed me to do just that, as it can translate velocity info into two different MIDI CC values for you if required, while still allowing the original note data to pass through if required. I can't summarize the capabilities of this unit in a paragraph or even a page. It lets you turn one kind of MIDI information into another, and change the channel at the same time. You can turn note-on data into CCs, you can set a range so that certain values trigger a MIDI event...the list is endless. Since I got this unit I have found it to be a lifesaver in my studio to sort out a variety of communication problems between MIDI devices old and new, and it has allowed me to set up patches for live performance which would have been impossible otherwise. My one complaint is that it has to be MIDI-powered, and that most devices and controllers these days do not supply enough power to their MIDI outputs to power the unit. It would have made life a bit easier if they had just put a DC input for an external power supply on these little boxes, because every time I use them I have to plan a patch with this in mind, or use a powered MIDI-thru box before them in the chain.

Event Processor / Processor Plus
David L. 590 20.05.2013
The Midi Event Processor, like all products we have used from the Canadian Company 'Midi Solutions' is of exceptional build quality, offering outstanding midi switching speed and accuracy. The unit is very easy to programme using freely-downloadable software and offers the ability to filter or trigger midi events by choosing a trigger event, which may be a certain note, a range of notes, or indeed, many other types of common midi event signals. The simplest and possibly most useful task for the unit is in transposing notes.
In conclusion, the Midi Processor family offers midi users the power to control many streaming midi events in real time, with no noticeable delay, very reliably.
Once you have a satisfactory programme, save the file as a .rtf (Rich Text) and record the automatically produced programme of System-Exclusive events into the Midi Controller. You can re-programme it any number of times, and it requires NO power supply.

Great piece!

Has allowed me to make my Akai MPD32 send the commands that I need. Super handy.
Programming software can be a little hard to figure out, but once you get it, it's fast.
