Quality Product

A few months back I bought these to add to my growing collection of percussion items mainly for recording purposes. Although I had never bought a product made by Meinl before I felt assured from the reviews of their products and their website that they make good quality products. I therefore decided to spend a bit more and get these branded Claves rather then the own brand kind. When I received this item I was not disappointed, the wood looked and felt of a good quality and nicely finished. The sound that is product is sharp and crisp just light Claves should be! I also find that I use these instruments a lot more than I originally thought as I find they are great to keep people in time when multitrack recording as the sound is really easy to distinguish in most mixes.
Overall I would recommend you to buy this product as a good solid addition to your percussion set.

A banging pair of sticks

It's pretty difficult to go wrong with a pair of claves. Essentially, they are identical sections of wood struck together to create percussive sound.

Meinl has been making quality percussion instruments for decades, and it's pretty safe to say that they know what they are doing. I just bought a pair of claves to help add some handheld percussion to my studio setup, enabling me to add more human elements to the array of virtual instruments I usually use.

These claves were a cheap but well-manufactured addition to the percussive instrument collection I'm building up, and they do the job well. Can't fault them.

Quite light, soft wood. A bit disappointing for meinl
misterong 26.03.2015
these claves are made of a much softer and lighter wood than I would have liked making it difficult to get a great sound easily. They are not very loud. mainly I use them in the studio, which means I can EQ them but live they would be pretty useless
