I bought this cymbal to replace my 20" Byzance Extra Thin Hammered Crash, as after about 2 years I finally cracked it and I knew this series was good enough because I have previous experience with the Pure Alloy Customs and know that they can mostly blend with my other Byzance cymbals. It's a very beautiful cymbal with great presentation and power. It is noticeably thicker than my previous crash but possess a fast response nonetheless. The sound is definitely harsher and more aggressive than most of the Byzance line, so it's more suited for Rock, Metal, or other high energy genres of playing. The tone is less preferable to my old cymbal, but it's certainly good enough to make the cut, and I imagine it is going to be more durable and give me a longer service life despite my heavy-handed playing. Overall, I love it and would recommend it to any Rock or Metal drummer in search of a GOOD sounding, FAIRLY priced cymbal.

I have been using the cymbal for a few weeks as a main crash with a 19" Byzance Medium Thin Crash. These two cymbals are very similar, but their different constructions provide a clear differentiation. Now to the cymbal itself. The workmanship is very good, as is typical for Meinl. Because of the low thickness, you don't even notice that the cymbal is 20". The sound is very warm and full and doesn't stand out, but rather fills the room with its slightly shorter sound. You could also use the cymbal as a simple crash ride, but of course the bell doesn't stand out as much as on a real ride cymbal. All in all, I am very happy with the cymbal and will continue to use it and can only recommend it.
