I’ve been dreaming of my setup with Markbasses since early 2025, and after two weeks of real-world testing, I’m still in shock.
I’m running two of these Markbass MB58R 104 Pure (8 ohm versions) in a stack, powered by my Eich T1000. The result is a massive 8x10 wall of sound that delivers incredible presence and power, yet I can carry each cabinet with one hand. This is a game-changer for both my tone and my back.
The flexibility of this "twin" setup is perfect. Depending on the venue or stage size, I can take just one cab for a compact high-power rig or stack both for a luxury tower that commands the room. Each cab handles 800W RMS, which gives me massive headroom. Even with my 1000W head, I never feel the speakers are struggling; they just deliver clean, punchy low-end with zero distortion.
The "Pure" series hi-fi tweeter is a standout feature. It’s remarkably clear and precise, giving the bass a high-fidelity definition that highlights the transparency and "zinggg" of new strings. It’s not that "harsh" clicky sound you find in cheaper horns; it’s a smooth, professional high-end that makes every harmonic shine, i adjusted the tweeter level switches on the back to -6dB on the top cab and -15dB on the bottom cab and it sounds perfectly balanced to my ears.
In my opinion, the build-to-weight-to-price ratio is extraordinary. Markbass managed to use this new light-weight materials to create a resonant box that feels solid but weighs next to nothing. The low-end is tight and fast and it captures the velvet of the woods and the resonance of my bass hardware perfectly.
To be quite honest, the global sound of them is way better than i was expecting. I was opened to have some compromise because of having a cab so much lighter than traditional wood cabs, i was expecting to have some level of "plastic nasal" tone in it, or some rattling when pushed to the limit, but no, not at all! The cab is strong and with top notch design, they deliver all of the amp's sound clear and defined at Hi-Fi level with full power. They can make your nose bleed and your chest smashed with the punch.
Even more if you stack them like i did to create a "monolith" that delivers the sound right to my ears and body, but without the nightmare of transporting a 80kg traditional 8x10. If you are looking for a professional sound, is easy to transport but capable of shaking the stage with authority and at a reasonable price, this is the ultimate solution.
