This is my first time writing a review for a product I've bought.
I've been on the lookout for a small mixer for some time. This Mackie mix12FX came on my radar and I devoured all the reviews I could find, which in general are very good. Although one of the cons of this product that kept returning was the apparant heating of the powersupply and the upper right corner of the device itself where the powersupply plug resides. Some reviews I assumed were exaggerating about the heating problem, saying the powersupply and upper right corner became extremely hot after some use. I took my chances and bought this device anyway about two months ago. Up till now I haven't had enough time to really test the mixer properly up till a few days ago. The mixer itself looks well constructed, the knobs feel solid and the sound is crisp. However, after an hour of use I noticed a noise. This was coming from the powersupply. When I touched it, it was as the reviews had confirmed. Glowing hot and buzzing away. I noticed that the upper right corner of the device was hot as well, but not too a point that you couldn't touch it. It made me pull the plug because I was afraid that the powersupply could damage the mixer. I'm now at a point that I don't think I'll be able to return it, because it took me too long to properly test it, which is my responsibility and I understand. But nevertheless I'm dissapointed that the reviews turned out to be correct about the heating problem. All this has nothing to do with Thomann, which are an excellent shop. Never had any problems with any orders. I just thought that I share this info with others. Sincerely, DD Franks

Compact and Powerful Mixer with Great Effects for Small Setups
Will Rodrigues 16.09.2024
The **Mackie Mix12FX** is an excellent compact mixer, perfect for small gigs, home studios, or live setups. Despite its small size, it offers a surprising amount of functionality, including 12 channels and a built-in effects processor with 12 reverbs, delays, and chorus effects. The sound quality is clean, with low noise, and the preamps provide ample headroom. It's easy to use, well-built, and portable. The effects are simple but versatile enough for most small performances or recordings. For the price, it's a fantastic, reliable piece of gear that punches above its weight!

Excellent small mixer, good FX, flimsy power supply
Marklee 18.09.2021
There are more expert sound engineers than me who've reviewed this mixer. I bought it with two powered speakers to use with a three-piece combo. I'm very happy with the price-performance ratio -- it made us sound fine. If you have more folks onstage you may want more channels and inputs. Twelve go very fast when everyone's playing and singing, and it's nice to have a slot free in case someone sits in. I knocked off two points for quality because the power source basically fell apart. I put it back together with duct tape, not an ideal solution, because the PS gets hot when it's plugged in for a few hours. I would still buy this mixer again.

Parfait pour solo-duo !
Jerem2 13.06.2022
Je branche mon violoncelle, ma mandoline et ma voix dessus, occasionnellement notre accordéoniste !
Rien à redire, facile à utiliser et assez légère !
Je la branche aussi sans souci sur mon ampli Roland AC33 pour les petites salles.
