Das Positive zuerst:
Das Blatt ist sehr leichtgängig und spricht sehr schön an und ist in vielerlei Hinsicht einfach zuverlässiger als Rohrblätter: Es spielt an einem regnerischen oder verschneiten Tag genau wie an einem heißen Sommertag und hat eine viel längere Lebensdauer als jedes "normale" Blatt.
Doch, wie man anhand der Bewertung sicher schon sehen kann, hat es vor allem ein großes Problem:
Der Klang.
Während Altissimo und Clarion prinzipiell ganz annehmbar klingen, ist das Chalumeau ein einziges Disaster. Der Klang wirkt wie gedämpft, fad und farblos. Hinzu kommt, dass dem Blatt eine große dynamische Bandbreite fehlt: Alles von piano bis mezzoforte klappt ganz gut, aber weder ein echtes Pianissimo ist möglich, noch ein echtes Forte. Möglicherweise bin ich da von den Vandoren verwöhnt, aber besonders für mich als Orchestermusiker ist die sehr eingeschränkte Dynamik ein großes Minus.
Unterm Strich folgendes: Wer gerade anfängt, nur spaßeshalber spielt oder die siebenundzwanzigste Klarinette in einer Marching Band spielt, der wird sicherlich immens von diesen Blättern profitieren: Unabhängig vom Wetter und keine langwierige Suche nach "dem perfekten Blatt" machen diese Blätter ein dutzend mal praktikabler als Rohrblätter? Aber Solisten und Orchestermusikern würde ich von diesen Blättern aus genannten Gründen abraten.

The positive first: The reed is very smooth and responsive and in many ways is simply more reliable than reeds: it plays just as well on a rainy or snowy day as it does on a hot summer day and has a much longer lifespan than any "normal" reed . But, as you can probably see from the rating, it has one major problem: the sound. While the Altissimo and Clarion sound quite acceptable in principle, the Chalumeau is a complete disaster. The sound seems muffled, bland and colorless. In addition, the sheet lacks a large dynamic range: everything from piano to mezzoforte works quite well, but neither a real pianissimo is possible, nor a real forte. Maybe I'm spoiled by the Vandors, but the very limited dynamics are a big disadvantage, especially for me as an orchestra musician. The bottom line is this: Anyone who is just starting out, playing just for fun or playing the twenty-seventh clarinet in a marching band will certainly benefit immensely from these reeds: regardless of the weather and no lengthy search for "the perfect reed" make these reeds a dozen times more practical as reeds?
