Ich nehme seit ein paar Jahren auf dem Alt das Black Bamboo. Das klingt, finde ich, schon wie ein recht gutes Holzblatt. Das White Bamboo (für mein neues Tenor angeschafft) ist für mich noch einen Tick besser, obertonreicher. Der Unterschied ist Geschmackssache, Ich steige beim Alt auch auf White um. Und man hat alle Vorteile von einem Kunststoffblatt: muß nicht feucht gemacht werden, hält ewig und eins klingt wie das andere. Profies mögen das vielleicht anders sehen, ich als Amateur hab genug mit meiner Motorik zu kämpfen, als daß ich mich auch noch mit immer wechselnden Blatteigenschaften rumärgern muß.

I've been using Black Bamboo on the alt for a few years. I think that sounds like a pretty good wooden blade. The White Bamboo (purchased for my new tenor) is a bit better for me, richer in overtones. The difference is a matter of taste, I also switch to white for the alt. And you have all the advantages of a plastic reed: you don't have to moisten it, it lasts forever and one thing sounds like the other. Professionals may see it differently, as an amateur I have enough to struggle with my motor skills than I have to worry about constantly changing blade properties.

Belle fabrication, beau packaging, mais son insipide.
Grain extrêmement fin.
Prévoir au moins 0,5 force de plus qu?à votre habitude.
Son clair, lisse, très classic à mon goût.
Son trop « propre » pour le jazz.
Beautiful manufacturing, beautiful packaging, but its tasteless. Extremely fine grain. Allow at least 0.5 more force than usual. Its clear, smooth, very classic for my taste. Its too “clean” for jazz.

Ich habe unterschiedliche Materialien und Arten Blättchen durchprobiert, das Bamboo spricht bisher mit Abstand am besten an. Der Ton ist sofort da, weich und trotzdem klar, und das Material ist deutlich robuster als einfaches Holz.
I have tried different materials and types of papers, and so far the Bamboo is by far the best. The sound is there immediately, soft yet clear, and the material is much more robust than simple wood.

Auf meinem 1928er Wurlitzer C-Melody-Saxophon mit einem Runyon-Mpc klarer, modulationsfähiger sound, leichte Ansprache von tief Bb bis hoch E, dazu die Vorteile eines Kunststoffblatts (lange Haltbarkeit, reproduzierbare Qualität, Unempfindlichkeit)
