One pickup arrived broken but I still recommend these pickups
-Benni- 26.09.2023
I am very impressed with these pickups. For less than €100 they give a great 'strat' sound and I believe that most people will find them to be pleasing.

I chose these over the 57/62 and other premium pickup options partly because of the significantly lower price but mostly for the reverse-wound, hum cancelling effect in positions 2 and 4.

Installation was easy - generous wire lengths and a decent wiring diagram were nice to see.

My set arrived with a defective neck pickup. Usually I would put this down to bad luck but I read a few other reports with similar concerns, so I thought I would mention it here. I did manage to fix it by heating the solder connections and then letting them cool, which suggests that it was just a bad solder connection from the factory.

So my general conclusion would be that they sound great but I do have concerns about quality control. With this said, I don't think that it should put you off, as they sound great and at less than €100 are excellent value.

Great tones!
Charles in Gdansk 20.10.2022
First I want to say I was a bit concerned because the bottom of the middle pickup is black and not gray like the others. The number written on the bottom is next to the number of the neck pickup so they seem to be made or numbered together. I'm not sure if I accidentally got a 50s middle pickup in my set or if it's a 60s pickup with the wrong bottom color. It doesn't matter to me because they sound great. I took out the multimeter to check the resistance and they're all consistent with what's advertised on the box. These are quite similar to the custom shop 69, Pure Vintage 65, pickups but with more balanced output between the pickups similar to the Tonerider Classic Blues set. You do need to angle the pickups higher on the treble side and lower on the bass side to get even volume across all the strings.

t
Put on DIY strat and the sound is amazing
thrunabilax 28.11.2024
I purchased these for a Strat DIY kit and that guitar is one of my favourites now. I also have a 1994 American Strat for direct comparison and wouldn't say that one sounds better, just a bit different, less noisy even. All in all simple install and great set.
