Joe Strummer's signature acoustic

Fender Joe Strummer Campfire folk guitar - front view

The Fender Joe Strummer Campfire is a homage to Joe Strummer, co-founder, lyricist, guitarist, and front man of the legendary British punk band The Clash, who passed away before his time in 2002, at the age of 50, leaving behind an unforgettable musical legacy. This signature guitar is just right for playing around a campfire, in rehearsal, or on stage and comes equipped with a Fishman pickup which delivers a powerful, punchy mid-range sound that will effortlessly cut through the mix. Its shorter scale length and slender "slim C" neck profile provide a comfortable playing feel, while the walnut fingerboard decorated with understated star inlays also ensures easy orientation. With its matt black finish and the famous Stratocaster headstock, this acoustic guitar comes in a deluxe gig bag, complete with a roomy front pocket.

Mini size, maxi sound

Despite this guitar's compact size and shorter scale length, the Joe Strummer Campfire has a surprisingly powerful, punchy sound. Its combination of a mahogany body and solid spruce top delivers an impressive level of volume, enriched with a vibrant mid range and a very direct playing response as well as plenty of presence, making this compact model ideal for nimble fingerpicking and slide/bottleneck playing styles. For rehearsals or live performances, the built-in Fishman pickup, which is installed on the top side panel and includes a two-band equaliser, a volume control, and a tuner with an illuminated screen that is perfect for precision tuning in dimly lit conditions, will come into its own.

Sure to tempt Clash fans and plenty of others

Signature guitars are often found in the luxury price bracket, but the Fender Joe Strummer Campfire is an exception to the rule. Its compact format and great sound will be sure to appeal to Clash fans, but also to beginners looking for an affordable Fender acoustic guitar. This model combines a comfortable playing feel and a reduced size with all the performance that players would expect from a high-quality guitar. Alongside the rich sound quality and how enjoyable it is to play, experienced guitarists will also appreciate how easy the Fender Joe Strummer Campfire is to carry around.

About Fender

Fender is without doubt one of the most legendary guitar and amplifier manufacturers of all time. The company was founded in 1946 by its namesake Leo Fender († 1991), whose innovative ideas brought a breath of fresh air into the musical world. His Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass are not only classics – they also continue to shape the styles of musicians in countless genres to this day. Timeless Fender amplifier models such as the Bassman, Twin, Deluxe, and Princeton also enjoy a stellar reputation. Besides maintaining its classic product portfolio, however, the company is also constantly developing new products that make Fender a driving force in today’s music industry.

A diminutive black powerhouse

Whether players are trying out a new song idea on the couch or turning heads in the studio or on stage using the built-in preamp, the Fender Joe Strummer Campfire guitar will always hold its own. Combining a powerful, clear sound with an impressive level of playing comfort thanks to its slim neck and short fingerboard, this model is a great choice for beginners too. The eye-catching design details add to its charm, from the angled-back Stratocaster-style headstock to the vintage nickel hardware and the Viking walnut bridge, which provides a comfortable rest for the player's right hand. This guitar is perfect for a range of styles that include Blues, Rock, Folk, and of course Punk.

"He's in love with Rock and Roll, Woah!"

Usually I'm wary of signature series guitars, I think they can be quite naff and tacky to recreate something an artist had as theirs. However, this Joe Strummer campfire is anything but that. Featuring his signature on the back of the headstock, the references to Joe are subtle.

A truly fantastic guitar which comes with a fantastic gig bag, perfect for taking to your next singalong. Whether you're covering Joe's rendition of Redemption Song or creating your own tunes, this will see you through.

Fantastic sound and onboard tuner which really makes it a joy to pickup and play.

LOVE IT.

ein echter Hingucker
MAAX W. 19.09.2021

Besonders wenn man "The Clash" mag.

Nice, but..
Mr Julien 01.07.2022
This guitar comes in replacement of an old electro-acoustic, and is not meant to be my main instrument.
Overall, it is a pleasant instrument, very good looking, nice to play and good sounding (for its reasonable size).
Bad thing is that is is not as well finished as we could expect : one edge of the neck is sharp and feels scratchy (which can be fixed easily I suppose), and it has several flaws in painting / coating that makes the guitar feel more like a B-stock.
I guess that I have been unlucky and I probably should have returned it, right after unpacking.
