Clear double-ply heads are probably the most common tom heads in modern pop, rock, and heavy music. They give a punchy tone with clear attack and a bit of sustain and tone.
Evans's G2s have been consistently high quality. They sound good, they're durable, have a good tuning range, and they don't lose tone too quickly. If you make sure that you angle your drums in a way that you don't get dents in your drumheads (that is, you hit the drumhead as flat as possible, not with the top of the tip of the stick), these will serve you for a good while before beginning to lose tone.

Evans G2 are the best
AA 12.04.2018
Since 2014 G2 clears have been my main skins with the occasional Remo weatherking, Evans G1, or Code head. These are still superior to any other skin ive tried though! Great durability - never broken a g2 skin - and a really nice and clear sound, all at a relatively competitive price level. Highly recommended from beginners to professionals

Nothing much to be said here. Very good and ringy drum head. Great attack and sustain. Use them all the time to record drums.

My personal choice number one as batter head on my tom toms. Good tone on every tuning i have used and fits perfectlyfor the rock and heavy music i am playing. I will continue using these heads as i am satisfied with the sound and quality and price they provide. I can recommend these to every other drummer no matter what your genre is.
