Elixir always delivers

I have been using these strings for years.
Lately due to covid I had to try different brands of so-called coated strings, but truth is nothing gets up there with Elixir strings.
Got this string for my acoustic as I wanted more low end and that is exactly what I got, however, due to the size of the string I had to file the nut just a little bit. Once fitted, it was just perfect.

Some gauges are just not right with some scale lengths
Efterklok 25.07.2024
I would have suspected a dud if I had only bought one of these, but after going through five or six in total, I can definitely say there is something wrong with the construction of this particular string. There were a lot of unwanted bell-like/ringmod-like overtones on all of them (tried on 570, 643 and 650 mm scale lengths). Luckily, once the string gets a bit dirty that character is subdued, but if you're recording and need to use new strings every session, this is probably not a good string to use.

Gute Saitenwahl
P.Worship 06.11.2017
