DW 5100 Drummer Throne

Firstly, the mount on which the seat itself rests can easily be removed - this is a design flaw as it means you can accidentally have it set too high and break it over time (for comparison, I have a Tama First Chair which has a set maximum height, so no risk of breakage or injury).

Secondly, it's like sitting on a plump cushion. If you like a soft, squidgy throne that sighs as you sit down on it, you'd probably like this. The throne overall is solid and otherwise clearly well-made. I also own the DW9000 Air Lift Throne and it's the best thing I've ever sat on. Firmer is better and much healthier for your back/spine, and this model feels far too soft and giving. I'm surprised at the lack of proper weight support when compared to the 9000, as they're supposedly not a million miles off from each other.

It's a quality, well-made throne, but for my liking it's far too soft and squishy. If you want to support your back and physical health (as we all should, especially drummers) you're much better off with a firmer throne, such as the DW9000, as expensive as it is! I'll be returning this and finding something with better, firmer support.

I got this throne for use in the studio and while practicing. The throne is completely silent, easy to adjust and feels like it?s going to last for ever. In addition, the price of this product is quite low considering its high quality.
First of all, the whole throne is very solid and improved my balance since I mostly play with my heel up or using my ankles. Furthermore, it feels like it puts no strain on my back even after long periods of playing (more than 4 hours).The adjustments are rock solid too. I haven?t readjusted anything during the last two months and I play every day. This is a great advantage for me as I don?t have to think of anything but drumming since I bought it.
The seat is very comfortable and I really enjoy the not to hard not to soft feel of the foam plus the good quality top. However, after playing for a short period of time (about 30 minutes) the pad dents a little bit leaving an imprint. That could get uncomfortable if you were to change your sitting position. On the other hand, It takes only about 10 minutes, for the foam, to decompress to its normal flat form again (in case it has to be used by different players).
I would recommended everyone to try it as I would definitely buy it again.
