I got these with the series 6 2up2down kit and they're perfect . The ball and socket would not be my preferred mounting system but to be honest these are rock solid, they're a bit annoying to get clamped onto whatever stand you're using (for me it's 2 cymbal stands) but once they're mounted the toms hold perfectly and are easy enough to adjust
