Very sweet tone - different from your typical PAF
wgen 10.11.2016
This title says it all: I have this pickup in the neck of a Les Paul guitar, and the tone is just so sweet! But it's much different than your typical PAF:
this EJ Custom has a bright, clear, cutting tone almost like a vintage single coil, which gives your guitar some of the best cleans I've ever heard.
It's not Gretsch, but it's definitely not far from that tone.
The distorted tone isn't creamy like typical PAFs perhaps, but it's still way cool in a completely different way, I think

DiMarzio DP211 Black - A Great Neck Pickup!
Plexi's & gibsons 18.07.2017
What a great Neck Pickup!

This pickup was designed for Eric Johnson, because he found that the neckpickup was to muddy in his Les Paul reissue guitar.

I'm using it in a Gibson 61 ri SG, I love this pickup for the clear sound that it gives. I would suggest this if you find you've got a loss in clarity in your neck pickup!

It sounds a lot like single coil, because one of the coils probably is more there to cancel noise.

All around it's just a great pickup that I would suggest anyone to use!
