An extended version of the TD-3

The Behringer TD-3-MO is an upgraded version of the company's previous TD-3 model - with "MO" meaning "Modded Out", to highlight its enhanced features. These modifications are inspired by the renowned "Devil Fish" circuits, developed in the 80s for an iconic bass synthesizer. Far from simply being a tribute, however, the TD-3-MO represents a real sonic expansion. Featuring a broader filter range, boosted sub-bass harmonics, enriched FM synthesis, a distortion circuit, and refined attack/decay controls, this synthesizer transcends its predecessor. The Behringer TD-3-MO will work equally well for "Acid" sounds, progressive Rock, Synth Wave, EDM, Pop, or any other style requiring an authentic analogue instrument.

New functions for even more punch

The TD-3-MO’s pure analogue bass oscillator now packs even more of a punch thanks to a multitude of new functionalities. The oscillator volume can be adjusted according to three different settings, while the "Slide" function’s duration has been extended six-fold. The "Accent Sweep" function has three different speeds as well as a high-resonance mode, and the "Muffler" can attenuate high frequencies. A collection of CV inputs and outputs - which include an FM input, a filter input and output, an "Accent" input and output, a "Slide" input, a sync input, general CV input and output, and finally a "Gate" output - allow the TD-3-MO to be integrated into a Eurorack system. It is therefore possible to control the filter cutoff frequency via an external sequencer. The settings can also be controlled from a DAW via MIDI or USB.

A genuine time-travelling marvel

Weighing just 800g, the Behringer TD-3-MO is easily portable - and its ergonomic layout makes it easy to use. The redesigned user interface still follows the same workflow as the original 80s model - taking full advantage of all of the new features, including the specially crafted and adjustable distortion section designed by Behringer for truly fat-sounding results! The unit features a host of CV connections to become part of any Eurorack, however these same connections are now also available on MIDI or USB, so that the TD-3-MO can just as easily be controlled by a DAW. This functionality extends to sound design, as the "Synth Tool" application, which allows users to model their bass lines, is also accessible via DAW. Finally, the TD-3-MO also comes in a silver finish – which is technically identical.

About Behringer

The company, which was founded in Germany by Uli Behringer and now manufactures its products in China, has been known for affordable and great-value equipment since its very first product, the Studio Exciter F. An array of mixing consoles (such as the Eurodesk MX8000), signal processors, and later sound amplification and monitoring equipment, has made it possible for countless musicians to fit out their home studios, practice rooms, and mobile PAs within budget limits that were previously unthinkable. The acquisition of other companies, including Midas, Klark Teknik, and TC Electronic, meant that new product groups were added - and also resulted in the technical expertise of these companies being incorporated into product development.

Computer-aided sound design

All the internal sequences of the Behringer TD-3-MO are via USB. These can then be easily accessed and modified on a computer, then stored or reloaded into the device thanks to the "Recall" and “Store” functions of the "Synth Tool" application. The note values and the total duration of the sequences are also fully definable via the editor. A right click will assign an accent to a particular note, the value of which is then set on the synthesizer itself. The application also manages MIDI routings, the "PolyChain" function, and the calibration of the TD-3-MO.
