Power to the mix!

The Behringer PMP4000 powered mixer is a versatile and compact solution for live sound, rehearsals, and small to medium-sized events. Combining a 16-channel mixer with a built-in Class-D amplifier, eight studio-grade XENYX mic preamps, capable EQs, and a powerful onboard 24-bit Multi-FX processor, it delivers 2 x 800W at 4 ohms, or an impressive 1600W in bridged mono mode at 8 ohms. This makes the Behringer PMP4000 perfectly suited to smaller venues and medium-sized spaces, even at reduced volumes. Its classic analogue-style layout is intuitive to navigate, while features like the FBQ Feedback Detection system and adjustable surround sound controls are user-friendly - ideal for both beginners and professionals. Lightweight and portable, with a convenient carrying handle, the PMP4000 is also a dependable choice for performers on the go!

Inputs and sound-shaping tools

The Behringer PMP4000 features eight mono channels equipped with Behringer's acclaimed XENYX mic preamps, delivering a 130dB dynamic range and ultra-transparent audio quality. Each mono channel includes XLR and 6.35mm jack inputs, inserts, gain controls, low-cut filters, and a three-band EQ. The four stereo channels - two with full EQ and two simplified ones - feature both 6.35mm jack and phono inputs. Three mono buses streamline routing, with two dedicated monitor sends that double as AUX channels and an FX bus for the built-in 24-bit Multi-FX processor. The latter offers 100 presets, including reverb, delay, and chorus, accessible from each channel strip. The seven-band graphic EQ on the main bus features Behringer's FBQ Feedback Detection System which pinpoints troublesome frequencies and simplifies the sound-check process, while the XPQ surround effect enhances the stereo panorama. For karaoke and backing tracks, the Voice Canceller reduces vocals in pre-recorded material.

Versatile and user-friendly

The PMP4000's intuitive interface makes it particularly beginner-friendly, and its light weight will appeal to solo performers, travelling bands, and smaller venues or exhibition spaces. Its feedback-cancelling system ensures smooth setups or configuration changes, while the clear layout and hands-on controls allow quick adjustments on the fly. Users can choose between stereo or mono operation, depending on the power output required, while the dedicated monitor mixes are ideal for live setups requiring both PA outputs and stage returns. The standby function conveniently mutes all mic inputs when not in use, and an optional footswitch allows seamless toggling between effects. Whether hosting karaoke, performing solo or in a band, or managing live sound for a theatre production or church service, the PMP4000 will perform equally well.

About Behringer

The company, which was founded in Germany by Uli Behringer and now manufactures its products in China, has been known for affordable and great-value equipment since its very first product, the Studio Exciter F. An array of mixing consoles (such as the Eurodesk MX8000), signal processors, and later sound amplification and monitoring equipment, has made it possible for countless musicians to fit out their home studios, practice rooms, and mobile PAs within budget limits that were previously unthinkable. The acquisition of other companies, including Midas, Klark Teknik, and TC Electronic, meant that new product groups were added - and also resulted in the technical expertise of these companies being incorporated into product development.

Designed for live sound

From live shows and art installations to conferences, the PMP4000 accommodates a wide variety of setups. With 16 channels, it can easily mike up a full band, with room left over for drum mics or outboard effects returns. The Class-D amplifier delivers plenty of power, supporting output impedances from 4 ohms to 8 ohms (or 8 ohms to 16 ohms in bridge mode) for flexible speaker compatibility. The XPQ surround sound feature creates immersive soundscapes or enhances sound effects, perfect for creative applications. Compact and durable, the PMP4000 travels easily, and optional accessories like the Thomann Mixer Bag or Thon Mixer Case provide excellent protection for performers and event organisers on the go. Overall, the Behringer PMP4000 combines performance, portability and ease of use, making it a smart choice for professional yet lightweight live-sound solutions.

Bought recently as an upgrade and so far does everything it supposed to. For the money, this has to be one of the best value for money purchases. I've tested it with two different active speakers and a passive alternative.........great results!
This is intended for use in bars and occasional outside performances. The tests I performed were outside using 1. Peavy 600w 4ohm peak passive 2. Fun Generation 800w peak active and RCF 400w RMS active.
Great crisp sound from the RCF all the way to full volume, good upto mid volume with the Fun Generation and very good once at about 3/4 and upwards volume with the peavy.

EM
Everything i wanted
E. M. 27.12.2022
This panel was the first one I bought in order to hook up multiple mics (and instruments) to be heard through a set of passive speakers i bought. I had very little experience with PA, but I figured out the basic features quite quickly. I feel like I have so many options with this panel, whether it is to sing and play on my own with a touch of reverb (which I LOVE in this panel), or even doing concerts elsewhere with multiple singers. I feel like for this budget you get a lot of quality options, it's quite easy to figure out, and can be used with very basic knowledge. After nearly 3 years, I never had an issue with it once. The only feature i miss, and I am quite sure it is because i haven't figured out how you can do this: but easy hookup to a laptop/iPad/phone. A simple USB or AUX connection isn't there. Other than that, this mixer did everything i wanted. I love the various options and quality of FX. Layout is clear and logical. It is easy to work with, and all of that for this price keeps impressing me!

A
Perfect for 1 or 2 man gigs
Anonymous 03.04.2015
Within the last 12 months I needed to upgrade my PA as I was moving into doing gigs in larger venues. Generally I run acoustic guitar, vocal mic and an iPod through the desk into two tops.

The ease of use of this desk was fantastic and it sounds great. I've been using it for the last 12 months and have had no issues or concerns with it. Generally I run the iPod through one of the available channels rather then the AUX connection as this means that I have more control over the EQ if needed and depending on the tracks that you are using.

The only issue that I had with this purchase is that it is as pictured in the picture. There is no cover or lid for this desk, such like the one that you would get with the Dynacord desks. So for this reason, transporting to or from gigs then you may run the risk of knocking channel settings or even damaging the desk itself.

Thomann have a solid flight case for sale that this desk will fit, however it was out of stock when made the purchase. Overall, this is an excellent desk and would be perfect for anyone that is looking to do medium size gigs as a one or a two piece act.
