Obsolutely stunning!
Ronalds S. 05.08.2018
I use this as a travel instrument or instrument when I need to check some tones fast, also to perform in concerts and cafes.
High quality wood, smooth and pleasing to touch. Strings are soft and easy to play. I don't even feel the double strings. I fell in love immediately. Beautiful and full sound. The picking comes easy and strumming sounds soft but accurate. This instrument could easily replace standart 6-string accoustic guitar because of it's full sound.
I've been playing this for a year now and I still haven't got a feeling that I should change the strings. Except the one low non-nylon G string looks little rusted but sounds perfectly fine.

Also I have installed a pickup. It cost me 15 EUR. I was worried that it will do some damage to the instrument but it took it really well. This helps to perform live much easier. At some stages the signal is little poor and it should be turn on the highest level where it could nearly peek but again in other stages the signal is totally fine. When plugged in ukulele seems to have more highs but it can be turn off very easily.
In all it's totally worth paying! There haven't been a day where I regret it.

Bought as a present, wish I had bought one for myself!
Scoobsblue 24.10.2018
Beautiful Ukulele in looks and in sound. Because of the double strings the sound is very big but still very delicate. Only downside for me is when i pick up a four string Ukulele now it sounds like something is missing, but that is not really a downside. Personally i do not feel the double strings makes it harder to play. I was lucky enough to try one of these in a local shop first but went straight to Thomann to buy because of the price. Great buy, beautiful instrument, happy girlfriend with new Ukulele and happy me as i get to play it.

Baton Rouge V2-T8 Tenor 8 string Uke
Raymond588 05.12.2017
I have just received my first Eight string ukulele, the Baton Rouge Eight String and what an amazing instrument. The sound was much better than I had expected. Absolutely sweet and clearer than the ukuleles I have had before. I was a little dubious about buying an eight string without actually playing one before, but I am really glad I took the plunge. It sounds like a guitar with a ukulele tone and the ease of using ukulele chords. I have been bitten with the 8 string now.

Should be called Mando-Uke
Mopedguy 18.07.2018
I was afraid to buy because of the higher tension I was afraid it would break itself apart over time. Well, we shall see. While I prefer the Baritone ukulele's deeper rich tone, I find this Tenor size with all the sympathetic double string tones just magical sounding. It really is like a mandolin in the form of an easier to play ukulele. The action is good, tuners are ok, the harmonics are as close as possible, the work is tidy and clean, the look is just acceptable if unremarkable, however the SOUND is incredible. I would not play every kind of ukulele music on this instrument (It begs for bluegrass, or gypsy style jazz) but for what it is, and the wide pallet of sound, sustain and projection it produces, I would say at this low price if you like the ukulele you must own an 8 string uke. If I had to venture a guess and was not looking but just hearing it, I would honestly think the cost at the very least 250 - 300 euro. at less than half that cost, just get one.

Great bang for the buck!

My daughter wanted an 8 string Ukulele and after shopping around found this one for a great price. My daughter loves how it sounds. It sometimes has to be tuned more often than others but I have not changed the strings on it yet so it is probably the reason.

the sound of an 8 string uke is really cool, I totally felt in love with that high C string combined with the low G. if you attack them with the thumb (from top to down) or with another finger (down to top) you get two different sounds and you can revisit any song you already knew. besides the build quality is really good and the resulting sound is low and clear. the only "problem" with the uke is that the head is heavier and it dives. also the lack of a pin prevents from using a strap. but 5 stars anyway, and 6 stars for the price

8 String Ukulele
cameramac 21.07.2020
Bought because I already have a concert and baritone and enjoy them.
Great little instrument and high quality for the price.
Took a while to tune correctly because it's 8 string but that's easy to look up on youtube.
You will not be disappointed with this little gem.

Brilliant for the money

Great build quality. Well set up. Great sound. Better than a Kala 8-string at half the cost! Highly recommended if you love that loud jangly sound.

solid construction for such an affordable instrument. Essentially a mandolin crossed with ukulele which gives it a unique timbre

S
Exceeded my expectations!
Scott-a-lotta 21.05.2023
I play ukulele as a hobby, and during the early days of the pandemic, I woke up in the middle of the night and stepped on the neck of my previous ukulele. I immediately started to shop around comparing models, looking for a suitable uke to replace it. I’d never even heard of an 8-string ukulele but the more I looked around, the more I kept coming back to this little baton rogue model. It arrived in a timely manner, neatly packaged from its overseas journey. It took a while to tune, as I half-expected, and the tuning knobs were a bit of a chore to turn at first. But soon it was holding its tune quite well, and the knobs have gotten easier to adjust. I love the sound of it, has a big sound and great sustain. I’ve had it going on three years now, I play it regularly and it’s definitely exceeded my expectations.
