Bach 349 Cornet 7EW

As all brass players know, the choice of a mouthpiece is highly personal and what works for one player is not always the best choice for another. Having recently purchased a Carol Brass Piccolo trumpet which came with two Carol Brass Mouthpieces, one for Trumpet and the other for Cornet shank, they just didn't feel right for me. So I turned to the well tried and tested Bach 7EW with cornet shank on the recommendation of a professional trumpet player friend. Not only is it a lot more comfortable to play with its slightly wider 6.20mm rim and shallow E cup, but the 117 backbore is ideally suited to bring out the best tonal colours of the Piccolo trumpet. I play my B flat, C and D/E flat trumpets on a Stomvi 0.7 Combi System mouthpiece but found the rim diameter too big for the Piccolo in order to be able to articulate with clarity. I have quickly adapted to the slightly smaller rim of the Bach which makes Piccolo playing so much easier and would therefore highly recommend the Bach 7 EW to anyone seeking an affordable, quality mouthpiece ideally suited to Piccolo Trumpet playing. Pop it into your horn and it immediately lights up !

Wie schon an anderer Stelle gesagt, Mundstücke gerecht bewerten ist schwierig.
Jeder hat andere Klangvorstellungen und von Lippen- Kiefer- und Zahnform andere
Voraussetzungen. Nach meinen Eindrücken eignet sich das Mundstück für hohe
Trompeten, insbesondere für die Piccolo. Durch den im Vergleich zum 7E etwas
breiteren Rand fühlt es sich bequemer an den Lippen an. Die Beweglichkeit wird
etwas eingeschränkt, dem kann man durch konsequentes Üben entgegen wirken.
Die Ansprache ist einwandfrei, die Töne rasten auch im hohen Register ( bis C4 )
sehr gut ein. Der Sound ist im tiefen wie im hohen Register sehr gut und keinesfalls quäkig. Bei Piccolotrompeten hat das Mundstück auch einen enormen Einfluss auf die Intonation. Bei meinen B/A- Piccs, Stomvi und Bach,
treten bei Gebrauch des 7EW keine Veränderungen in der sehr guten Intonation der Instrumente auf.
Über die Verarbeitung des Mundstückes lässt sich nichts negatives sagen.
Innendurchmesser, Kesseltiefe und 117 Rückbohrung (Piccolorückbohrung)
entsprechen genau meinem 7E Mundstück.
Auch die Versilberung ist ohne Fehl und Tadel.
Ich kann das Mundstück guten Gewissens empfehlen!
