I bought this DI box on a whim, another thing to add to my growing collection of recording gear. I've only recorded a couple of our bands songs with it so far but I am very impressed. The signal is clean with no sign of any hum or unwanted noise.
The pad switchs and ground lift are very handy, the ground lift in particular doing a very good job as and when its required. The filter works well, although I'll never use it, I always record everything flat. But again, no unwanted artefacts from using it.
The thru input is perfectly clean as well, me and our guitarist could detect no additional sound being caused by running through the box.
Build quality is good, it might not weigh anything but it feels like it'll last well and could survive a good few drops or being stood on etc. The only thing I would say, is the buttons could break off if caught the right way, but it would have to be a perfectly placed hit to do this and at this price it wouldn't exactly be the end of the world replacing the unit.
I really can't think of anything negative to say about this box, at this price it just can't be beat. There will be a couple of others added to my next order!

I use it in my home studio and it does its job when connecting Active instruments like Keyboard and EDrums, sometimes I use it for Acoustic Guitar as well.
I really like the features with the phase switch and Ground lift, they work well.
Highly recommended for such a price

Best value for money passive DI box you can find out there!
Have been using this one for more than 5 years in home studio, and also on a recording studio, and still doing it's job 100%!
If you want a DI box, for everyday use, and don't want to spend a ton of money, this one is the perfect choice!
Pros: Steel strong construction, REALLY affordable, portability, audio quality.
Cons: Be a little bit careful with the filter button. it may give you peaks sometimes. Better press it before plugin-in any instrument or mic.

Gain.

I'm fully washed out with (short lived), expensive 9 volt batteries, so I went passive on my DI's. OK phantom powered DI's, maybe, if you have a very good (reliable) phantom power mixer.
So passive is for me now, OK, we lose 1/8th of a turn on the gain knob, but we make up on signal clarity & way more headroom before DI distortion sets in.
This particular passive DI loses 1/8 a turn of gain (not good) for passive instruments, but OK for active instruments, or pre'amp/pedal out signals.
Phase turn works great for stopping feedback. This one also has a radio signal filter built in to stop the mobile phone noises.
