The maker provides many U.S. mouthpieces but DIRT CHEAPLY from him directly. This one reflects a European horn concept, can produce enormous sound and satisfy the most demanding player but is BRIGHT a la Chicago Symphony horns. Inside rim diameter is typical of 'normal' American background, i.e. <17.0 mm, and the rim contour is neither wide nor flat. The cup is shallow but somewhat straight-sided, less cupped and more greatly bored than German standards. Particularly when on the stage, altogether more sound (volume) can result than with, say, Tilz or Schmid or Alex & Co. If you want the classic Yankee NYC/Philly/Cleveland/Hollywood sound, don't even consider this one; although it easily suits to the highest professional standard, if presence and immediacy are the aim, also in the middle and low registers. With care, its brighter sound need not overpower smaller ensembles. Much brassier than woodwindy.
