ET
A bit flat
Eli Thorne 18.06.2020
I tested this at home in my (not entirely soundproofed) studio. I work as a voice actor from home, and so i'm used to how my room sounds, but this came over as a bit compressed and flat to me. Especially the high end seemed dulled when compared to other condensors. Apart from that, I find it a bit ugly! I know it shouldn't count, but i'm shallow like that. Good that there's so much detail in choosing the patterns and cuts though.

VL
Nice mic, but has a ground issue...And loads of noise
Vox Lover 02.08.2019
I was happy with this mic but used it infrequently, as I wasn't so pleased with the sound. I bought it in Jan 2019, so it ran out of warranty a few months ago (same time the Thomann 3-year warranty ran out...).I've used the mic for maybe a total of 6 hours in the studio. A few days ago I got it out to work on a demo. Great. Super noisy!!! Got on some forums and found there's often an issue with the way the cage is wired to ground. Apparently, it's a common failure with these mics. And AKG Germany will charge you for a repair estimate...That's all I needed. No more AKG. Don't waste your money.

Update: Got the ground issue sorted, but still have a major S/N problem. Pulled out other condensers like a much less expensive Studio Projects C1, and put them up on the same cable, same pre, and same interface, and the noise level makes this mic unusable for recording. Really sorry I wasted so much money on such a shit mic.

AKG 314
JORGELPN 04.10.2019
Gran microfono y alta calidad.
