Traditional looks and feel-good sound

With the Caz series, Zultan has a collection of extremely inexpensive, handcrafted cymbals made of B20 bronze in its range, which, thanks to their sound properties, are ideal for Jazz and other music genres that tend to be on the mellow side. The cymbals are made in Turkey using manufacturing methods that have been tried and tested for centuries and are mainly based on manual work. The simple, classic look of the cymbals is just as traditional as the workmanship. The Caz range includes the Crash, Crash/Ride, Ride, Sizzle Ride, and Hi-Hat model variants, and two pre-configured sets are also available.

Craftsmanship on a budget

When talking about exquisite, handcrafted cymbals from Turkey, the mouths of aficionados start to water immediately. However, a glance at the prices will then often leave you quite disillusioned. And this is where the Zultan Caz cymbals come into play. Never before has so much mojo been offered for so little money, and even if the good models from the established brands are outstanding, the Caz cymbals, which are completely hand-lathed and hammered over their entire surface, deliver a comparatively impressive performance. The 22" ride makes a convincing case with a warm, earthy sound with fine treble frequencies and a silvery stick sound.

Jazz in Turkish

The Turkish term "Caz" translates to "Jazz", which clearly defines the desired area of use. In Jazz, you need light cymbals that react to the softest playing and deliver a balanced, harmonious sound across all dynamic levels from soft to loud. And this applies not only to Jazz, but also to the areas of Blues, Funk, Latin, and Soul, so that the Caz cymbals can also show their advantages there. The 22" ride is a versatile cymbal with balanced sound characteristics that delivers the right sound for each of the aforementioned genres.

Jazz is just the beginning...

The Zultan Caz cymbals may have Jazz in their name, but can be used universally and are at home wherever you need pleasant-sounding cymbals with a warm sound spectrum without annoying frequencies. This is primarily the case with acoustic, unamplified music, which includes unplugged sessions as well as salsa gigs or gospel concerts at church. Of course, nothing stands in the way of also using it in amplified music, as long as the cymbals are played sensitively and with the right tools. The 22" Caz Ride reacts sensitively to different sticks and blends in homogeneously with different genres.

I have a 24" Zildjian cymbal but it was a bit too much for rehearsing and playing smaller shows. Didnt have a lot of spare cash so I decided to get this one. Its a nice, light and warm cymbal. I love to crash on it, great sound. Played as a ride its enjoyable but a little bit too washy for my taste. Has a long decay. Perfect for jazz players.

The bell is tiny, you have to concentrate on hitting it. But overall I do not regret this purchase. It really does sound like an expensive cymbal.

Usually when drummers, who just started out playing, would ask me - what cheap cymbals can I get? I did not have a definite answer but now ... Zultan is the way to go.

Beautiful.

I use this ride mostly for church playing and it fits absolutely perfectly. Better for bigger rooms as its quite thin and crashes well. It's definitely suited towards those who will crash their rides rather than waning more ping, which works perfect for me!
I've gigged it in rock band settings too and it works well.

for the price, you can't beat this cymbal.

lovely warm overtones. would've liked a bit more stick definition but this is a minor issue, asides i love the sound and feel of this cymbal. very responsive to both crashing and riding. the bell is a tad weak - unless you find the exact sweet spot to make it ring, but this can only increase your accuracy and precision when hitting it, and therefore improve your technique. A wonderful cymbal which i'm looking forward to getting many miles out of!

Incredible value

Without a doubt just as good as alternatives from big brands that cost literally twice as much. Great, thin, dark cymbal with woody stick definition and a big washy crash sound.

Would definitely recommend this ride for anyone looking for a lighter/jazzier sound. Sounds great with a sizzle on as well.
