Big and bold.

This mouthpiece is very large, as measurements suggest. It is not, however, very difficult to play high notes on it thanks to its cup shape and relatively small backbore. After a couple of hours of study it gets tiring, so I switch to an almost identical 33C4; lets say that it is a very good practicing tool to build up mouth muscles, but when you get confident it is also excellent for 2nd and 4th horn playing. I also used it as 1st horn, but it strongly depends on the music you have to play (at least with my not so great capabilities). It has plenty of volume, allowing to play loud (but with an unforced sound) even in open air; it is slightly lighter souding the the 33C4, which, in turn, is lighter than the 32C4: it is counterintuitive that a large mp sounds less dark than an almost identical smaller one, but this is what can be heard, at least with my horn (Paxman M20). The build quality is excellent, as usual with Yamaha, and you can be sure that two specimens have identical measrement and feeling, which is not always the case with some other highly respected (and priced) brands.
