Great compact mixer
rayzer... 03.12.2020
Bought this as an upgrade from the Xenyx 502 as i needed an extra mic input, having a second set of outputs is also super handy for my setup too. I previously owned a Yamaha MG12/4 so i found this mixer simple to use and had it all setup really quick. Well happy with it.

Reliable, good sound, easy to carry on
Andris Muc 05.02.2025
After more than a year of using it, I'm rating it 4 and not 5 stars because it would have more features similarly to the competitors; the stereo channels, for instance, don't have eq. However, what it does, it does well. It is not totally silent but has a good sound quality overall.
The mic filters are good for what they're intended, but you can also use instruments in those channels. I use, for instance, a synthesizer in the mono channel with the filters on (otherwise it distorts the sound).
Using the mono channels for a bass guitar doesn't work very well; although you can get the sound, it somehow reduces the range of the bass' treble/bass knob.
The stereo channels work particularly well with synthesizers, returning a clean sound. I use it regularly with some combination of keyboards, including a Nord Stage and a Korg Opsix.

Small mixer with big sound.
DarrenH 16.11.2015
I bought this Yamaha MG06 primarily to use for monitoring purposes for my drum set up when playing live. My monitor mix goes into the mixer along with click track from my Roland SPD-SX. I then go out to IEM'S via a hard wired Fischer belt pack. Does a great job and the features are amazing for such a small mixer.
It's well built, set out easily and feels like a good quality product.
Due to its size it's easily portable as well which is a big factor for me.
Yamaha make great products and I can't find fault with this so far, recommend.

Low quality

Channel imbalance on main outs and channels 3/4. Wobbly chassis, weak mic pres. The plastic bit around the power button rattles.

Great clear sound

I use mine to switch between two stereo in puts to my monitors. It has a lovely clear sound and gives a good visualization of level and a point of level adjustment if needed. A quality little unit. I love the fact that it has a power switch too.

Yamaha can deliver great quality. But also can deliver mediocre toys.
MG06 is exactly that. Mediocre sound quality and not very good build quality.
Small shall not mean bad, but for Yamaha it looks like that.
I have MG20XU and the quality is really incomparable. Bought that one for small pedalboard, and after few months replaced it with different brand.
I was never sure, if the volume will be equal between channels, and the mic preamps were just weak and ugly.
Sad, as it has great compact form.

Yamaha is quality as always

Best mixer of this size to ever be in market.

Build quality is awesome, the box with which it came is sturdy, I won't even need a hard case for it, looks well protected in a carton as well.

And i'm not even talking about sound quality, it's a YAMAHA, you can't get better than this.

What I am personally missing is Compressor, but it is probably just too small to have this feature.

Nimble, sturdy and great sounding...

Barebones, great sounding, well built little mixer.
If you need a small, easy packing and great sounding little (analogue) mixer this it. Gives you 2x mono in with enough EQ to tweak your signal (hi & lows) and 2x stereo in (mono compatible) with level control only and no EQ. I use them for art installations feeding active speakers, being so small they are very easy to conseal.
They also have the most reliable level meters in their category and the headphone out is surprisingly good both high and low impedance headphones. ( Tested with Senn HD 25 and Beyer DT880Pro )

category.

Petite console analogique qui permet de mixer mes claviers, click, ordi de façon raisonnable. Sortie casque de très bonne qualité. Les preamps sont plutôt bons.
