good cushioning but doesn't keep tight
PCPlod 16.05.2020
This is my second one of these and I'm still not impressed by the three screws which invariably loosen with playing. I need to tighten them every time, it's part of the pulling the end-pin out routine. It doesn't lock. Using pliers to tighten as much as possible helps but that is really going too far. There is a slot so that you can use a coin or a screwdriver but it isn't deep enough. There are cheaper end-pins which do stay tight but their rubber wears out much quicker. At least with this, the rubber keeps going for many years, the rubber wearing out problem with others is such that when they go, the bass just slides away and this is most disconcerting. Still looking for the perfect one.

It's not great
Travelling Man 24.10.2018
I have had two of these. The first dropped off and got lost somewhere between a gig and my car. The second I don't bother using anymore. I think there are two problems with this.
The first is that the three little grub screws and not man enough to grip the end pin and they constantly work themselves loose. I find I am often tightening them.
The second problem is that it doesn't grip a smooth floor that well - its fine on carpets but nothing else. I have bought 2 - I won't be buying a third.
If you play with a very upright stance this could work for you as long as you take care to check its still attached everytime you move the instrument.

I'd think twice
G.L. double bass 31.05.2019
I've used two of these in the past and they have a tendency to wear out very soon on the bottom (2-3 months of regular use).

My bass had a very slim foot and the side screws weren't enough to hold it in place – I used some tape to gain some friction.

A very useful tool
Daniel M bass 28.02.2016
The reason for 3 stars is that sometimes this can slip off of my endpin probably because it is just a little too big for this to be attached on securely but I have used it and as long as I didn't lift or move the bass about too much it did the job fairly well and help my bass in place. Overall it's a well made and has good gripping materials and would be very useful if you have just a metal endpin like me.

Does the job
Alternium 30.04.2017
I prefer playing with an endpin and this one does the job at an fair price. The only problem i have with it is that it tends to not fasten good enough, and sometimes fall off. It's solid build and otherwise it does its job well enough.
