good cushioning but doesn't keep tight
PCPlod 16.05.2020
This is my second one of these and I'm still not impressed by the three screws which invariably loosen with playing. I need to tighten them every time, it's part of the pulling the end-pin out routine. It doesn't lock. Using pliers to tighten as much as possible helps but that is really going too far. There is a slot so that you can use a coin or a screwdriver but it isn't deep enough. There are cheaper end-pins which do stay tight but their rubber wears out much quicker. At least with this, the rubber keeps going for many years, the rubber wearing out problem with others is such that when they go, the bass just slides away and this is most disconcerting. Still looking for the perfect one.

Wolf Super Endpin

I have these endpins fitted to both my double basses and they really help providing grip on slippery surfaces, for example playing in the reception area at weddings on a marble floor. They are very robust and have lasted much longer than the standard rubber grip fitted to most endpins, which I've found to split very easy with constant use. The only drawback is that, despite tightening the screws with pliers, they still have a tendancy to come lose, so I always check them and give them a tweak before a gig. Other than that, this is an excellent well designed product.

It's not great
Travelling Man 24.10.2018
I have had two of these. The first dropped off and got lost somewhere between a gig and my car. The second I don't bother using anymore. I think there are two problems with this.
The first is that the three little grub screws and not man enough to grip the end pin and they constantly work themselves loose. I find I am often tightening them.
The second problem is that it doesn't grip a smooth floor that well - its fine on carpets but nothing else. I have bought 2 - I won't be buying a third.
If you play with a very upright stance this could work for you as long as you take care to check its still attached everytime you move the instrument.

NB
Great fit
Nana Bass 31.03.2022
I purchased this item because the endpin of my Thomann Double Bass is the size of a cello endpin, but the rubber protections designed for cellos were not robust enough to support the weight of a double bass. This item finally does the job perfectly.

Protected My Floor
motty 01.02.2018
As a newly minted DB player in possession of a second hand bargain My First Beginners DB From Ebay, I was terrified that I might damage my floor or my carpet by standing this heavy instrument directly on the alarmingly pointy bit of the endpin. Enter the Wolf Super - cheap, simple to install even for a beginning DB enthusiast, and almost impossible to get wrong. I did not damage my floor or carpet. Job done. Five stars.

Stable

I cant find any cons with this product. It is very stable and dependable without tearing apart at all, or slipping from the endpin. It is grabbing the endpin of the instrument with the help of 3 little screws. Recommend for double bass players!!

I'd think twice
G.L. double bass 31.05.2019
I've used two of these in the past and they have a tendency to wear out very soon on the bottom (2-3 months of regular use).

My bass had a very slim foot and the side screws weren't enough to hold it in place – I used some tape to gain some friction.

I have one the same on another instrument that I still use. I recently bought one for another instrument and the rubber was worn out in a few months of use. A drop in quality?

DM
A very useful tool
Daniel M bass 28.02.2016
The reason for 3 stars is that sometimes this can slip off of my endpin probably because it is just a little too big for this to be attached on securely but I have used it and as long as I didn't lift or move the bass about too much it did the job fairly well and help my bass in place. Overall it's a well made and has good gripping materials and would be very useful if you have just a metal endpin like me.

If you move your bass much it?ll come loose and fall off, but it does what it says on the tin and looks after the floors
